Как правильно настроить антивирус AVG
Доброго времени суток, дорогие читатели. Вы наверняка знаете, что на сегодняшний день, антивирус AVG является одним из самых надежных и функциональных защитников вашего компьютера. Но чтобы он таковым был и оставался, вам нужно правильно его настроить. А как это сделать мы и покажем в сегодняшней статье.
В одной из наших предыдущих статей мы рассказывали, как правильно скачать и активировать данный антивирус, поэтому сегодня мы займемся уже более подробной настройкой на полную защиту вашего ПК.
Общие настройки
Итак, допустим, вы скачали и установили антивирус AVG. Далее вам нужно будет его настроить. Для этого откройте AVG. Изначально мы порекомендуем вам перейти в настройки антивируса и отключить раздел автоматического обновления.
Дело в том, что зачастую обновления на антивирус выходят с багами, и неподготовленные пользователи могут схватить неприятный вирус, к себе на компьютер, в результате некорректной работу антивируса. Лучше обновить его после, например, часов через 12, после его введения.
Уведомления настройте под себя, как вам удобно будет их получать. Исключения, а также блокированные и разрешенные приложения также настраивайте под себя, в зависимости от того, чем вы пользуетесь и чем пользоваться вы не хотите.
Также мы рекомендуем поставить вам пароль на антивирус, чтобы сторонние программы не смогли его взломать и изменить его настройки. Вполне хватит и простого пароля, даже на 1 символ.
Настройки данных – в этом разделе лучше убрать все галочки. А с другой стороны – если у вас достаточно мощный компьютер, то вам ничего, а разработчикам антивируса приятно, ибо они будут получать лишние данные и смогут быстрее улучшить свой продукт. Ну и конечно же, вы не будете делиться информацией с разработчиками антивируса, ибо есть пункты, которые им ни к чему.
Что касается «устранения неисправностей», то обязательно поставьте галочку на 2 и 3 пунктах. Пассивный режим вам не нужен, если вы пользуетесь только 1 антивирусом (а больше и не нужно, между нами говоря).
Что касается задержки запуска, то лучше эту функцию не активировать, однако, если у вас слабый компьютер, то в таком случае ставьте галочку. Это позволит системе быстрее загружаться.
Базовая защита
В этом разделе тоже будет несколько подпунктов, которые нужно настроить. В «обнаруженных угрозах» вы должны выбрать, что должен делать антивирус при обнаружении вредоносной программы.
Мы посоветуем вам проставить галочки на «спрашивать», на всех пунктах. Ибо не всегда антивирус блокирует именно вирусы. Аналогичным образом он противостоят и «крякам», необходимым для изменения работы тех или иных программ. Поэтому будет лучше, если каждый раз вы будете вручную выбирать, что делать с потенциальными вирусами.
В разделе «защита файлов» вы должны будете выбрать настройки при подключении съемных носителей. Расставьте галочки так, как показано на скрине ниже.
В анализе поведения просто активируйте единственную галочку. В Веб-защите по умолчанию будут активированы все галочки, кроме разрешения блокировки сайтов. Поставьте эту галочку, если вы часто посещаете не совсем легальные веб-страницы.
В защите электронной почты поставьте все галочки, которые есть в разделе. Ну а раздел сканирования – настройте под себя. Т.е. выберите, какие файлы антивирус должен сканировать при глубоком, среднем, простом и легком сканировании.
Полная защита
Тут вы тоже столкнетесь с настройкой нескольких функций.
Изначально вы попадете на улучшенный Firewall. Поставьте галочки на «показывать уведомления о создании новых правил» и на «включении автоматического обнаружения сканирования портов».
В «защите от программ-вымогателей» поставьте «строгий режим». Далее мы посоветуем вам активировать защиту веб-камеры (если она у вас есть), поставьте галочку в разделе «защита конфиденциальных данных». Также поставьте галочку активации «защиты от поддельных сайтов». Раздел «защита против спама» можете пропустить, т.к. смысла в ней не много.
Инструменты
Что касается режима «не беспокоить», то новичкам он не нужен, тем более на домашних ПК. Что касается карантина, то тут вы выставляете количество памяти, которое вы готовы под него выделить. А в «уничтожении файлов» вы выбираете алгоритм удаления. На самом деле тут не важно, что вы выберите. Удаление – оно и в Африке удаление.
Вот, в принципе и все. Вам останется только активировать галочки в разделах интернета, атаках злоумышленников и конфиденциальных данных (просто включите по 1-2 галочкам, которые будут в этих разделах) и все, вы будете под полной защитой антивируса, о чем он вам и сообщит, в главном меню.

AVG, if this many people are having an issue with this, it suggests the issue is on your end. Instead of sending individual emails on how to deal with this, please just fix it and save the rest of us the headache.

Between this and the whole Jumpshot situation my faith in this product (and by extension, company) is seriously shakey at best. Likely will not be renewing and seeking alternative security suites, preferably one fully capable of protecting my data, rather than selling it to other companies.

Paid service, Windows 10 with all latest updates.
Everytime I reboot AVG reports that «Password Protection» is disabled and «Advanced Firewall» is off.
Can reset password protection but have to just wait for advanced firewall to re-activate itself (the «turn on» switch does absolutely nothing).
Please confirm if both are being investigated as a part of the same fix.

But this one coincides with the windows 10 update 2004 in which the credentials manager does not store anything anymore. that is the other problem I have. this is also about passwords.
Any connection? Is the root cause actually not AVG but a faulty update by MS which messes with AVG? sounds too much of a coincidence to me.
Until now microsoft is silent as the grave on this issue.

Please advise the following:
1) When did this issue begin occuring?
2) Has this to AVG’s knowledge resulted in Password Protection not working properly? Or is it just a UI glitch?
3) When is this going to be fixed?
I too have noticed this earlier this year, and I know for a fact there’s been times i’ve forgotten to check it was switched back on (because i’m not immediately assuming my paid for Anti-Virus is not working).
Since noticing the issue earlier in the year, there’s been a series of instances Google Chrome has popped up telling me my password(s) may have been compromised. If it has been it would seem to be your fault. In which case, what the hell caused it?

I have the exact same issue and am wondering if there is already some solution available. My app is up-to-date — update December 9. As you are most likely aware this is a serious issue and is hurting the trust in your company, thus I believe it is your top priority to fix the problem.
It took a while for me to notice this so it would be nice of you to inform your customers that this problem has a chance to occur and what to do in that situation. That would help your trustworthiness a lot in my eyes.
Errors happen but it is important to let your customers, whose data is in danger, know that there is a problem a assure them, that you are working as hard as possible to fix it.
I sincerely hope there is some solution for this in the works and that there is at least some kind of a work-around.

Historically, I too had the issue with Password protection turning itself OFF, requiring my manual intervention to re-activate it. It was very frustrating indeed.
A month or two ago, AVG Tech Support remotely fixed the problem.
They also specified that the Development Team were working on it and that a «fix» would be available within the next version.
The solution provided to some to delete and re-install the Product is complete rubbish.
If you all care to review the history of this issue, it has been around for ages.
I suggest that, as no updated is forthcoming, have AVG Technical Support remorely fix this Password protection issue.

However, you are missing the point.
In the first instance, there are fifty one (51) entries under this SINGLE post.
Secondly, this issue has been LIVE and ONGOING for ages.
The AVG Support Team, including yourself, know it, but, yet, AVG Support still advise their Customers to reinstall the Product, fully aware that this is NOT a resolution, and that all the effort on the part of the Customer will end in frustration.
Stop providing your Customers with incorrect information.
Just remotely get into their System and fix the damn thing, as in my case.
Ultimately, AVG Support is treating their Customers with disrespect.

Restart the PC and reinstall the AVG to fix this issue.
It is not a bug fix if it requires a complete reinstall of the program. I have seen articles with people not being able to reinstall after removing the software. And I have three computers running this software, which is a lot of time invested. If I have to do this, I want a free year of AVG to compensate me for my time.

For me, it didn’t start happening until I renewed my subscription. through Amazon. with a new, 2-year subscription to AVG Ultimate. I activated the subscription, which included VPN but the VPN slowed my systems (4 computers) down SO MUCH that I took it back out, along with the «anti-track» program. THIS seems to be when the problem started! I stil have no solution, and have to manually «turn on» the password protection every time I boot a computer. It is a pain in the a**, but I THINK I am still properly protected. I guess I have 2 years to fine out, but if it is still happening by then, I will be looking for a different protection software.

I have this same problem which started a week ago. I have tried doing a repair but this has not resolved the issue.

This was reported as a bug earlier and we’ve resolved it immediately. The solution is to reinstall your AVG Internet Security program using our «Clear» tool. I have this error as well — just to add my name to the list — and had it for a few weeks. I’d thought it was a one-off, so didn’t record the date.
The ‘resolved fix’ response is a politician’s answer. As has been noted previously, it can’t be a fix if it requires a complete uninstall and re-install of the program (with all the hazards and downtime that go with that process) to correct the flaw. A fix would be to issue a patch reversing the coding that caused the bug in the first place. That is what paying customers would expect from AVG (or from any other subscription software house), not to have the problem bounced back at them. You broke it — you fix it.
Please issue a proper solution to this fault via an update. Thanks.

Kindly update the application in : AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> Update
After updating restart the PC and check if the issue has been fixed or not.
Dear useless AVG support
I had this same problem over a year ago and the AVG Clear and a new install does fix the problem or at least temporarily hides the real problem. You keep releasing buggy programs. This problem is back.
The first day after update, Release date was March 22,2021 3:45 AM
(ver. 21.2.3170-build 21.2.5096.648)
I could be a sheep and run AVG Clear, download AVG and spend the rest of the day dealing with install issues.
I am not a sheep and my time is worth more than you software.
If AVG can not fix their problem and push out a patch by the end of this week I will run AVG Clear, get a refund and install Norton Internet Security.
Post your robot script reply and I wont wait until the end of the week.
