Button interactable unity

Ты не путай батоны из using UnityEngine.UIElements; и using UnityEngine.UI;

Да, еще как вариант, ты создал свой класс Button, такое тоже бывает)

Unity Button not working/highlighting/interacting

I have made the program so that, once the level is done, a panel will pop up and this button is attached. However this button is not working.

I have — Checked my eventsystem, Checked Raycast Settings, Set the onclick event, Also brought the button out on the z axis so that it would have no interference from the panel.

It’s because you original color of the Image is completely black. The Button component just tries to tint the original color, but because it’s black, you see no effect.

Oh, and. As @Glurth said, you have enabled Block Raycast on the CanvasGroup , so basiclly the Button doesn’t even receive pointer events.

I see you have «Blocks Raycasts» configured for the Canvas group, which you have added to the canvas itself.

I don’t think this component is supposed to go on the canvas itself anyway; it’s intended to allow one to disable or hide groups of objects on your canvas. The «blocks raycasts» is intended to prevent clicking on controls that are behind this group, and collect clicks for the group itself. If you put everything on your canavas in this group, it will collect all the clicks for everything.

Buttons not working in Unity

Description of the problem

A Canvas has been created with one or more buttons to perform an action, when running the game the buttons don’t work when you press them.

This is something that has happened to me on several occasions and can be due to several reasons.

Let’s assume you have a GameObject with the script with the button function defined as public, you have assigned it to the Button component of the Canvas and selected the appropriate function. If you haven’t done this and need help, I invite you to read this article on how to use Canvas buttons.

Possible Solution #1: No EventSystem in the hierarchy

When we create a Canvas, a GameObject called “EventSystem” is automatically created, as you can see in figure 1, this GameObject has some components associated to handle the input events (figure 2).

If we accidentally delete the GameObject EventSystem, the mouse inputs are not detected and the Canvas buttons do not work.

To solve this we can create a second Canvas to make the EventSystem appear, then remove the second Canvas. Or we can simple create an EventSystem.

Possible Solution #2: Button configured as non-interactive

The Button component has a Boolean to disable it, as shown in figure 3 the “Interactable” box.

Possible Solution #3: Button is not a RayCast target

The button has an Image component for the background image and a Text component for the button text.

Both components have a box with the name “Raycast Target”, what it does is to enable the component to be detected by a ray tracing, the process by which it is detected that some element of the Canvas has been pressed.

In figures 3 and 4 we see the “Raycast Target” boxes. In a button if all the Raycast Target boxes are unchecked, it will not be possible to detect when clicking on those elements.

To fix this problem, make sure that at least one Raycast Target box is enabled.

If (button.interactable) condition doesn’t work — why?

I have a Typewriter script attached to the text, which is a child of a button.
I want this script to run only if the button is interactable.

I made a public variable to store the button and used GetComponent() method, but it doesn’t work.

Where is my mistake? I would be grateful for your help!

Thank you in advance!

The check is only made once: When this script first awakens it checks to see if the button is enabled, if it is, the entire typewriter effect will occur. If the button is not enabled, then the typewriter effect will never occur (unless the script itself is disabled and re-enabled).

If you want to wait for the button to become enabled, you need to use the Update() method. If you want to stop the typewriter effect after it starts, you’d have to restructure your code entirely.

The writing boolean is so we don’t check the button again after we’ve started (or the coroutine would run more often than we want).

Unity Canvas button not working

I added a canvas component to one of my images to override default layer order sorting. Turns out the button controls on that panel have stopped working?

Has anyone any idea about this in Unity? I am using unity 5.5.2.

The easiest way to debug is to :

  1. Run the game in the editor, not in full screen (uncheck Maximize On Play button)
  2. Select the EventSystem GameObject of your scene
  3. In the inspector, open the Preview Window and make it big enough
  4. Move your mouse on your screen, and check if the name of your buttons appear next to the field pointerEnter

If you can’t see it, here are possible solutions :

  1. Make sure you don’t have any UI elements above your button which could block the raycasts
  2. Make sure you have enabled raycasting on the images used by your buttons (check RaycastTarget)

  1. Make sure you have an EventSystem in your scene
  2. Make sure you have a callback attached to your buttons so as to trigger your functions
  3. Make sure you don’t have any CanvasGroup with BlocksRaycast or Interactable set to false
  4. Make sure you have a GraphicRaycaster attached on a gameobject (on the Canvas usually)
