It sounds like the correct drivers may not be installed, or they may be outdated or corrupted. When you uninstalled your emulator, did you download and install drivers from your controller manufacturer’s website? Or is it a «plug and play» controller? Do you know which API your controller uses?
Also, by default the controls are not remappable. If you used a non-default control scheme before, you will not be able to use it.

Если имеется джойстик, но не от Xbox360 — качаем ditool.zip , x360ce.App-2.1.2.191.zip , и libraries файл в зависимости от того, скольки битная у вас система — распаковываем всё в одну папку и запускаем exe файл [ http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list ] , подсоединяем джойстик и выбираем внизу строку «Thrustmaster Dual Tigger 3 in 1 Rumble Mods» и проверяем всё-ли правильно настроено, затем скачиваем фикс (ссылка из предыдушей проблемы) и распаковываем в папку с игрой.
Если вы находитесь на разных компьютерах (в гости прийти поиграть — лень) и хотите поиграть по сети, то скачайте программу Radmin (позволяет пользоваться одним компьютером, через другой через сеть) [ http://www.radmin.ru/products/radmin/ ] установите на том компе, на котором вы будете играть rserv35ru и на компе друга rview35ru. . Ставить сервер у того, у кого имеется джойстик. (если игра его не видит, то читаем темы выше) Ребутаете компы обязательно! Запустите Сервер и зайдите в настройки — Права доступа . -> (Напротив Radmin) Права доступа -> Добавить — после чего создайте сеть со своим названием и паролем, через которую к вам подключится друг. Дальше на компьютере напарника запускаем view радмина и жмём на молнию (вкладка ) после чего вводим IP (если не выходит с внешним IP, то установите Hamachi и установите соединение между собой), который высвечивается при наведении на иконку rserver в скрытых значках на панели windows. Дальше вводим название сети и пароль сети (которую мы создали на сервере в правах доступа). Всё, ваш друг может рыться на вашем компьютере. Дальше включаете игру (если джойстик уже настроили), кликаете Local Game (желательно кликать по этой строке джойстиком, дабы избежать лишних проблем с ним) и всё готово! Вы играете через Джойстик на своем компе, а ваш друг на клавиатуре (на своей, управляя вашим компьютером через свой с помощью Radmina)
Ещё раз повторюсь — тема для тех, кто безысходен и перепробывал ВСЁ, чтобы поиграть в эту игру вдвоем, или просто не может настроить свой джойстик под эту игру.

First note that CC does NOT support hotswapping. Your controller must be plugged in, and all drivers must be correctly applied and the controller detected by your computer PRIOR to booting the game.
Additionally, our game will assume that the first device you touch on the Main Menu screen is the one you want to use. If you use a keyboard to select an item on the Main Menu, only your keyboard will respond until you reboot the game or return to the Main Menu!
If you try both of those things, and it still isn’t working correctly for you, please let me know!

Sorry about the delay. We have tried this several times here in our office and are not experiencing this issue.
Which version of Windows are you running?
When you connect the controllers via USB, do you connect them before starting Castle Crashers?
Have you tried different USB cables? Those cables can sometimes go bad.
Do both controllers have fresh batteries in them when you connect wirelessly?
I have some other ideas but lets address these first. Thanks!
I apologize to have come across such an anomaly! Your questions:
1. I’m running standard Windows 10.
2. I’ve tried every combination possible in terms of connecting prior to and after launching the game (so, yes)
3. I’ve tried multiple, yet I still experience the issue. My PC is still able to detect activity from the controllers in other games and I’m able to map them in other games.
4. This was the first thing I tried, because the wireless receiver randomly disconnects the second controller when two are connected, so I figured that new batteries may solve the issue, however I still experience the disconnects and so since then I’ve been running one wireless controller and one cabled controller (or both cabled if a game gets confused).
Last night I did verify the game files, and it detected and retrieved on bad file, yet it still didn’t work. I also tried a fresh install of the game and the same issue rose.
Something interesting that I DID find (stay with me here), I was trying to map the controllers manually within steam’s Big Picture in hopes that perhaps steam could act as a middleman that might tell Castle Crashers which controller is one and which is two, except big picture instead detected my controllers and mapped all of the inputs directly to one, so when I pressed up on one controller it would think both controllers were sending the up input, skipping boxes. Turning off the Xbox controller auto-configuration solved this issue, but did not solve my issue within Castle Crashers.
What was funny, was that when Big Picture read one controller’s inputs as both controllers inputting simultaneously, is that when I went to create the local match in Castle Crashers, I was able to sign into the second player slot (in the ‘Press A’ menu of the local game option). The second controller remained unresponsive and only one controller was controlling both players 1 and 2.
Again, I’m greatly appreciative of the time you’re taking to help me through this. Hopefully my tedious attempts on solving the issue can be of some help to you in solving this issue once and for all.
