Elementor Header Footer not showing
I am using Rife Free theme and trying to get a footer by using Elementor Header and Footer. I have created a Footer template and published it. It has footer option selected. I have also disabled Footer in Theme>Appearance>General settings>Footer.
The footer is still not showing up even after setting it to Canvas or Full Width.
Not sure what is going on but any help is appreciated!
I have also disabled Footer in Theme>Appearance>General settings>Footer.
I believe you should enable it to see it.
With kind regards.
Air.
I managed to get it to appear by putting in the shortcode of the template. However it’s displaying oddly.
the settings are:
Widget columns: 3 ; Social Icons: Disabled ; Content Width: Full Width ; Content Style: Centered ; Separator between widgets and footer content: Disabled .
Now I just need it to appear correctly as in the template.

If you are using Elementor footer, then theme options from customizer will not affect it, as they work only for the default theme footer.
Please post live link If you would like some advice about what could be going on.
With kind regards.
Air.
Please visit my site whiffaromas.com
I am using the Elementor Header Footer plugin. I put the shortcode into the Appearance>Customize>General Settings>Footer box. That’s the only way I could get it to show up.
The other problem I have is the border box when you click the “About Us’ drop down menu. How do I get rid of the border?
Last issue is the Shop page. The images are too large. I’ve gone to Appearance>Customize>WooCommerce and tried adjusting the size but it doesn’t change. How can I make them smaller?
Rather then using as header/footer as a shortocode, please check if your custom header and footer are showing on the default WordPress theme.
If not, then there is a problem with definition when they(header/footer) should show up. In this case, ask Elementor support for help.
Also, if you are using Elementor Pro and want to use custom header and footer, you should keep header and footer enabled in theme options. Saying just to be sure you know this:-)

Elementor Header Not Showing Up on Elementor Page
I’m working on a site using Elementor with the Astra theme. I made a header with Elementor Header Footer Builder. However, when I create a new page, I’m not seeing the header at the top. Do I need to associate the header with the page somehow?
Are you using Elementor Pro’s theme builder to create your header, or a 3rd party plugin? If you are using Elementor pro’s header builder, then yes, you need to add conditions that tell it where/when to display the header. More info at https://docs.elementor.com/article/335-create-headers-using-elementors-theme-builder and https://docs.elementor.com/article/311-conditions. If you are using a 3rd party plugin to create the header, it will depend upon what that plugin is, and what their instructions are for making it happen. Check with that plugin for info.
Thanks for your reply. I’m using Elementor free version and a 3rd party plugin called Header, Footer & Blocks for Elementor by Brainstorm Force. The host provider is EasyWP.
Here’s some additional information:
I first used Elementor to build my own site in 10/17 and used these same plugins as well as a few others. My provider was SiteGround. I never had a hitch with the header and footer builder. I even searched high and low for some setting that I applied for my site to make the header and footer work, but could find one. I simply created the h/f and then when i made pages, the h/f just showed up in their respective positions on the page.
Now I’m currently working on this 1-page site, where I’ve installed all of the same plugins I used on my site, but have noticed some other anomalies in addition to the header footer builder. If I try to add padding to an element, it doesn’t stick after I update. So, if I may ask another question, is it possible for the host provider (EasyWP) to restrict certain edits / features? It seems unthinkable, but worth asking.
Elementor does not support this plugin.
I suggest upgrade to Elementor PRO and us our own theme builder so we can offer support.

Theme header or footer being hidden if header template or footer template being used #4252
Comments

Description
When using the new header & footer templates, you cannot use only one in most themes. Using just the footer template completely hides the theme’s header and vice versa. This only doesn’t happen when using advanced themes such as generatepress as they have additional functionality separating the header and footer.
This does happen even on the most simplest barebones themes such as underscores.me, html5blank, bones, etc. which makes users developing their own basic/slimmed down themes for use with elementor broken.
Steps to reproduce
- Install a basic wordpress theme such as a barebones theme — html5blank.com
- Add a menu
- Menu will show up correctly on live home page
- Add footer template through elementor templates
- Header/menu will now not show at all
Environment
WP Version: | 4.9.5
Elementor Version 2.0.8
Elementor Pro Version 2.0.3

This is the desired behavior . (aka feature! not a bug)

Hi,
Maybe I wasn’t clear in what I was saying, it was actually said to be an issue/inconsistency with many themes by your support.
By activating the footer template, it’s overriding the theme’s footer, that definitely is working as intended and a feature. BUT by activating that footer template, it’s ALSO overriding the theme’s header. The system is assuming that if you are using elementor’s footer template that you are also using a header template, even if one doesn’t exist. Essentially it’s forcing you to use/create the elementor’s header template if you are using the footer template and they cannot be used independently.
I don’t see how not being able to use JUST a footer template is a feature and not a bug. If it is intended, can this be changed to a feature request to have a setting somewhere to allow the footer or header to work independently? I, and I’m sure others, already have a theme’s header that we would like to keep and just use a new elementor footer template on our sites.
bainternet commented Apr 26, 2018
We developed this in mind that some themes open HTML tags in the header and close them in the footer now if we only «inject» the footer the markup will be broken.

Ah, got it, thank you very much for the api link, I’ll take a look and modify my themes accordingly!

Can I disable all core location: Header, Footer, Single, Archive and use only custom location. Custom location is best suite for me. But I don’t want customer see other part. In my opinion, It does not make sense when let customer know about thing that our theme doesn’t support it.
Is there any way to disable Header, Footer, Single, Archive template type?

I have the same issue as the OP. Wish I could get back my 3 hours troubleshooting what was a perplexing situation before coming along to this post.
If it’s this way by design, and especially for a technical reason, then at the least perhaps there needs to be communication about it in the Elementor Templates area. Maybe I’m missing something, but to me it doesn’t seem obvious that engaging in Elementor Templates is an all-or-nothing situation.

Header, Footer & Blocks for Elementor + Polylang
We have received your ticket related to this query. I have checked and replied to the ticket. Can you please have a look and reply to the same.
Hello, I want to inform you that my problem was solved.
Thank you so much for your time.
You are welcome! 🙂
Hello,
I am also using a site with Elementor and Polylang.
Your plugin works very well and it adds a footer to Elementor.
Is there any solution to add different footers for the different languages?

We haven’t done that by our self though, but if polylang plugin provides any feature to translate the footer for different languages then indeed you can do that. Or you can easily do with WPML.
Moreover, if you can opt for our Astra Pro then it allows you to make your footer different for you different language with WPML. Here is the documentation link.
He borrado la caché.
When I try to edit footer and header, created with Header, Footer & Blocks plugin, it open the entries edit panel for blog. If I eliminate and create a new footer o header, I got error 404, “Can´t open a preview”. I can edit with Elementor others pages.
I desactived the plugin and the theme. I desactived all plugins. I erased the caché.
I need make modifications either footer and header but I can´t do it.
Please give me some orientation.
Thank you
Kind Regards
It shouldn’t be happening! Can you please open a support ticket so that we can have a proper look at your issue.
Hello,
I have a website in three languages, PT ES and EN, online for about 4 months and until recently everything was fine when changing the language. Now I have identified that I have several problems: the secondary menu in the Header always shows in ES (the main menu is ok) and the footer always appears the EN, the logo in the header for Homepage always goes to the ES website. My main language is PT.
The content of the pages are ok, the problem seems to be only in the Header and Footer created with Header, Footer & Blocks for Elementor!
I’m using “Polylang” for translations, “Elementor” for pages and “Header, Footer & Blocks for Elementor” for header and footer.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
Thank you for getting in touch!
We recently released a huge update to the Header Footer Elementor plugin, which allows users to create multiple Headers & Footers and display them conditionally on different pages.
As now users are able to create multiple header and footer and display them conditionally, Polylang plugin now needs to provide support for our plugin.
Just to let you know, we tested Elementor Pro offers similar functionality (to create multiple header and footer and display them conditionally) and has similar compatibility issues with Polylang. But there is an addon plugin: “Connect Polylang for Elementor” which makes it compatible.
We have contacted the author of “Connect Polylang for Elementor” requesting if our “Header Footer Elementor” plugin can be supported as well. And hopefully, the support will be added soon.
We will inform you once this support will be added.

I’m working with the follow combination to a multilanguage web site:
–Astra Pro Theme
–Elementor Pro
–Elementor – Header, Footer & Blocks Template
–Polylang
I’ve already created a footer for english language, and a footer for spanish.
And I’ve the same problem, that people talk above: My footer created with “Elementor – Header, Footer & Blocks Template” doesn’t works when I swith between english or spanish. Always show english footer, doesn’t matter ir I biew the website in spanish.
TODAY, there are any solution for that? There are any configuration that I don’t did? Or it’s better make my footer with Templates of Elementor and use the plugin “Connect Polylang for Elementor”?
We’re still in discussion with the Polylang team.
We connected them recently and looks we would need to come up with a solution mutually.
This might take some time and we will let you know once it is done.
Please feel free to let us know in case you have further queries.

Elementor?
Elementor — Header, Footer & Blocks.
Header Footer Builder.
