HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor — что это такое?
Современные ноутбуки часто содержат некоторые технологии защиты, которые направлены на сохранность информации, например во время падения устройства.
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor —
Windows.

Hey! Did you try removing the driver from Device Manager and letting Windows Update load it?
Seems like a wrong OS driver (such as a 32bit installed on 64bit) or a missing software requiremen.

I did as per your advice — but during Drivers update (automatic), I’ve got a message:
Windows system detected drivers for this device, but during attempt to install this driver fault has happened.
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor
Driver for this device is locked, as it is known that it can’t work properly under WIndows control. Contact the manufacturer for new driver (Code 48).

Updated from Win 10 x64 Version 1703 to the new Fall Creator’s Update Version 1709 Build 16299.19 last night on 2 different HP notebooks.
The HP 8470p runs Win 10 Home x64 and it has the same hardware id for the sensor as the HP 8570w (HPQ6000). It did not have a problem with the upgrade; Device Manager shows all is OK on the HP 8470p. The driver for the HPQ6000 sensor installed on the 8470p is version 5.0.2.8. I tried to locate this version on the HP website and the Microsoft Update Catalog without success. It’s working on the 8470p, so I’m not going to mess with it.
On the HP 8570w that runs Win 10 Pro x64, both the video card driver and the data protection sensor had issues after the upgrade. I successfully reinstalled the video driver from the NVIDIA website for the Quadro K1000M and it’s now working as it did before I updated Windows.
I’ve tried a couple of different ways to reinstall the sensor driver:
1. Ran SP71714 (the latest version of this hardware id’s sensor software/driver for Win 10 x64 on the HP website), but it does not successfully install/update.
2. Tried to update the driver directly via the .inf file from Device Manager and this also fails.
3. Used the download for this hardware id from the Microsoft Update Catalog (only version 5.2.1.1 dated 6/11/2015 shows up when searching for the hardware id) and update directly from Device Manager and it does not complete properly.
I’ve tried uninstalling the device and restarting fresh, but no difference. I had a similar issue with the HP 8570w when updating to Version 1703, but I was able to eventually get the sensor driver to install properly after some trial and error and reading a few posts on the subject in this forum.
Is there a newer version of this software/driver for hardware id HPQ6000 that works on Win 10 Pro x64 Version 1709 Build 16299.19?
Or am I doing something wrong? If so, please describe a step-by-step solution for me to follow. Thanks!

I found a solution on my own with some ideas from the forum!
Seeing that the HP EliteBook 8470p updated fine with an old driver, I looked for an older SP file for the HPQ6000 hardware id.
I found SP62981 that looked promising. I first unpacked it using 7-zip and did a direct update of the driver through Device Manager. It completed successfully, I restarted the PC and Device Manager now displays the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor driver under the «Sensors» category, not the «System Devices» category where it was before and the device status is now «This device is working properly». The driver is version 5.0.2.24 dated 07/19/2013 . So far so good.
But I was still getting the Windows error for the Accelerometer when I restarted. So I then ran Setup.exe in the extracted SP62981 files and it installed another version of the HP 3D DriveGuard software. I now had two versions on the PC: 5.2.1.1 32-bit that was installed with SP71714 and 5.1.12.1 64-bit that SP62981 had installed. I restarted the PC as instructed and still got the Windows error for the Accelerometer. I then uninstalled the 5.2.1.1 32-bit version of the HP 3D DriveGuard software and then restarted the PC.
Guess what? No more Windows error for the Accelerometer and Device Manager shows everything is working properly.
The HP EliteBook 8570w appears to be fixed (until the next Win 10 Creator’s Update)

The W10 driver doesn’t work on the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor hardware revision your notebook has.
You need to manually install the Windows XP 64 bit driver from the support page.
Start by deleting the W10 driver, and software again.
Try and get back to where the accelerometer is listed as an unknown device.
Download and save this driver but do not run it.
Download and install this free file utility. The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
After you install 7-zip, right click on the XP 3D driveguard driver file you saved.
Select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp58201).
After the driver folder is created, go to the device manager, click on the problem accelerometer device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.
Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC and the error message should be gone.

I installed the suggested solution: SP62981, but It still not working.
The existing driver’s properties, says:
«The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)»

I didn’t try the SP driver set from HP, but instead went directly to the Microsoft Update Catalog for MS approved/hosted drivers.
I searched for «hp mobile data protection sensor» and sorted by date to get the latest set of drivers. Should be dated 9/23/2016 version 6.0.19.1. Download the .cab file and unzip that with something like 7zip (ignore any errors). Go into Device Manager and manually update the driver (right click to upate drivers > let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > have disk > point to the accelerometer.inf file in the unzipped folder) and ignore any errors. It’ll need a reboot after.
On reboot, it might auto update to the previous driver (v5.x) with issues so make sure to go back to Device Manager and confirm it’s the 6.0.19.1 version. If not, right click on it > update driver > rollback and then you’re set.
