Как включить редактирование CSS в Intellij

Я просто перешел на IntelliJ IDEA, потому что подумал, что он отлично подойдет для разработки приложения JavaFX.

How to enable CSS editing in Intellij

I just switched to IntelliJ IDEA because I thought it would be great for developing JavaFX application.

I must be doing something wrong because when I am editing a CSS file, there is no code-completion. When I am trying to create a new CSS file there is no option for CSS files.

I am using the community version of IntelliJ.

I have looked very long for an answer, and it hurts that I have to ask here! I hope someone can help me.

CSS editor is not supported for community edition, as it said at the language support part of IntelliJ IDEA Editions Comparison

You can get help from community edition plugins page. For CSS editor, SmarterEditor and Shifter plugins may be helpful.

Yes, the CSS editor is not supported for the community version of Intellij , in my case adding plugins did not work but something that helped me was the answer :-

You just need to create a new «file» rather than a directory, package or Java class and save the file with the .css extension.

The short answer is no, at least at the moment. The best solution i for me so far is to open the resources folder in Atom editor and do all UI work there. It’s handy because you also run atom live server, and not have to restart the application. Also Preview HTML is another very useful plugin.

The short answer is, IntelliJ Community Edition doesn’t support CSS. But a workaround would be to manually attach the CSS to the scene(Or what ever element you want). Here’s how to do it.

Don’t go to the «src» and try to add a stylesheet there. Cause it is not there.

On the menu bar, Click on Files and create a new File. Make sure you name the file with .css extension (Ex: «newStyleSheet.css»)

Edit the Style sheet as you would in JavaFx with CSS standards. (Ex: Changing the background colour of the scene)

Then attach the stylesheet to the element (in this case the «scene») from application code

Run the application and you should see that the default Stylesheet(STYLESHEET_MODENA) has been changed with your new one.

Нельзя сказать, что их причиной является низкое качество программного обеспечения. Чаще всего, это сам пользователь неправильно провел установку или не совсем корректно манипулирует уже инсталлированной IDE. Сегодня разберем наиболее распространенные ошибки, которые возникают при работе с данной средой, и попытаемся дать для каждой из них универсальное решение.

Распространенные проблемы

Несмотря на то, что разработчики постоянно сталкиваются с разными трудностями во взаимодействии со средой разработки, существуют и те проблемы, от которых ломятся форумы. Сегодня не станем изучать экзотические неполадки, а сконцентрируемся на том, что может случиться с только что установленной IntelliJ IDEA.

В топе неисправностей среды разработки:

не работает кнопка Run. Из-за этого использование среды превращается в взаимодействие с простым текстовым редактором — вы не можете исполнить то, что написано. Очень часто пользователи прекращают работу, так как ни одно из альтернативных действий не дает позитивного результата;

в окне редактора невозможно печатать. Эта проблема, как правило, отображается не одинаково. Иногда, возможность печатать пропадает лишь на время (5–10 секунд), иногда требуется перезагрузка компьютера. Поэтапное выполнение настройки может решить эту неисправность.

Серая кнопка

Нередко начинающие пользователи сталкиваются с такой неприятностью. Они успешно установили среду, написали свой проект и теперь хотят увидеть, как работает их программа. Но проблема в том, что кнопка запуска проекта — Run — выглядит вот так:

Причем такие методы, как запуск программы через сочетание клавиш Ctrl + Shift + F10 или вызов запуска с помощью правой кнопки мыши не дают результатов. Таким образом, у вас в руках оказывается не очень многофункциональный инструмент.

Решение: жмем Setup SDK и там добавляем в IDEA Development Kit.

Это не всегда сработает, особенно, если у вас нет такой кнопки на панели. В этом случае прожимаем кнопку Add configuration, которая находится возле кнопки запуска. Там настраиваем конфигурацию, и все работает!

Typing not allowed

В IntelliJ IDEA бывает и такое, что программист просто не может печатать в текстовом редакторе. Бывает тотальный баг, когда печать полностью заблокирована, а бывает, что она появляется от случая к случаю. Расскажем, как это решить.

Прежде всего, необходимо отключить эмуляцию Vim. У редактора есть два режима, в одном из которых нельзя редактировать текст. Скорее всего, у вас была включена эмуляция, и вы случайно переключились между режимами. Просто отключите ее: жмем Tools и снимаем галочку с Vim emulation.

Но вот если возможность печатать пропадает от случая к случаю, значит, проблема в JDK. Чтобы наладить все, как следует, устанавливаем Oracle JDK 1.8, а после выбираем Switch IDE boot JDK в key map. Потом с помощью горячих клавиш изменяем набор по умолчанию, и он снова начинает работать.

Без набора разработчика

Это основная проблема и причина всех остальных неполадок в IntelliJ IDEA — среда не видит JDK. И для этого случая есть достойное решение. Причем оно работает и для остальных IDE, которым необходима исполнительная среда Java для запуска.

Вам нужно либо переустановить набор, либо добавить его в переменные среды. Мы не будем заново проходить весь процесс установки или конфигурации JDK, ведь информации об этой теме достаточно в сети. Главное, что вы должны запомнить — это то, что с первого раза правильно установить и IntelliJ IDEA, и набор разработчика получается не у всех. А второе — это то, что неправильная установка почти всегда является причиной неполадки. Это значит, что простая переустановка может решить все возникающие ошибки.

Code Style. CSS

Use this page to configure formatting options for CSS files. When you change these settings, the Preview pane shows how this will affect your code.

Tabs and Indents

If this checkbox is selected, tab characters are used:

On pressing the Tab key

For reformatting code

If the checkbox is cleared, IntelliJ IDEA uses spaces instead of tabs.

An indentation consists of two parts. One part results from nesting code blocks, and the other part is determined by alignment.

If this checkbox is selected, the part that results from nesting contains both tabs and spaces (if necessary), while the part defined by alignment consists only of spaces.

If this checkbox is cleared, only tabs are used. This means that after reformatting a group of spaces that fits the specified tab size is automatically replaced with a tab, which may result in breaking fine alignment.

The Smart Tabs checkbox is available if the Use tab character checkbox is selected.

Tab size In this field, specify the number of spaces that fits in a tab. Indent In this field, specify the number of spaces to be inserted for each indent level. Continuation indent

In this field, specify the number of spaces to be inserted between the values of properties.

Keep indents on empty lines If this checkbox is selected, IntelliJ IDEA retains indents on empty lines as if they contained some code. If the checkbox is cleared, IntelliJ IDEA deletes the tab characters and spaces on empty lines.

Blank Lines

Use this tab to define where and how many blank lines you want IntelliJ IDEA to retain and insert in your code after reformatting. The results are displayed in the Preview pane.

The settings on this tab do not affect the number of blank lines before the first and after the last item.

In this area, configure whether to have or not to have extra empty lines around top-level blocks and nested selectors. In the field next to each option, specify the minimum number of extra blank lines to be left.

Other

In this tab, specify the alignment, braces, spaces, and quotes options to be applied on reformatting.

Use this list to specify where IntelliJ IDEA should place the opening braces of selectors. The available options are:

At the end of line

Use this list to specify how IntelliJ IDEA should align attributes and values. The available options are:

Do not align : select this option to specify alignment on the first character of an attribute name.

On value : select this option to specify alignment on the first character of the value of an attribute.

In the CSS, SCSS, and Less context, IntelliJ IDEA by default uses double quotes for generated string literals in import statements and URLs. To use single quotes, select Single from this list.

To apply the chosen style to the entire file after reformatting, select the Enforce on format checkbox below the list.

Currently changing the configuration for quotation marks does not affect injected style sheets and CSS code inside the tags.

If this checkbox is selected, the closing brace of the selector will be placed under the list of properties.

If this checkbox is not selected, the closing brace of the selector will be placed under the selector.

If this checkbox is selected, the blocks with a single property will be confined to one line.

If this checkbox is not selected, each property will be placed to its own line.

Use this area to configure the hex color syntax. You can select from the following check options:

Convert hex colors to : select this checkbox to configure the hex color letter case. You can choose Lower case or Upper case .

Convert hex colors format to : select this checkbox to configure the hex color format length. You can choose Long format or Short format .

View changes in the Preview pane.

Arrangement

In this tab, enable sorting of CSS properties, which is by default turned off, and select the sorting order.

To enable sorting, select the Sort CSS properties checkbox.

Select By name to have all CSS properties within each block reordered alphabetically. IntelliJ IDEA ignores vendor-specific prefixes but keeps multiple vendor-specific prefixes for a certain CSS property alpha-sorted.

To define your own sorting strategy, select the Custom order option and specify the desired sorting order in the textbox next to it.

Use commas and spaces as delimiters and skip vendor-specific properties because IntelliJ IDEA always groups them with the corresponding one without a prefix. Within such group, properties are sorted by vendor prefix and the prefix-free one comes last.

Regular Expressions are welcome in the Custom Order list, for example, .* matches any property.

IntelliJ IDEA remembers the modified Custom Order list and restores it if you turn custom sorting off and then turn it on again.

To sort all CSS properties in a file

From the main menu, select Code | Rearrange Code .

Alternatively, select Code | Reformat File from the main menu, and then select Whole file and Rearrange code in the dialog that opens.

To sort CSS properties within a block

Select the block to sort and then select Code | Rearrange Code from the main menu.

Alternatively, select Code | Reformat File on the main menu, and then select Rearrange code in the dialog that opens.

Set from

The link appears in the upper-right corner of the page, when applicable. Click this link and choose the language to be used as the base for the current language code style.

To return to the initial set of code style settings and discard the changes, click Reset .
