ISMCmod Installation Guide
This guide goes over how to play ISMCmod online, in local play and run it if you’re a server admin!

Hello players! Due to popular request we are writing up an official ISMCmod installation guide for server admins, players and for local play. This is currently a work in progress and doesn’t cover exactly every step of the way and it is assumed that you have done some basic research. We will continue to update this page as we go.

What Is ISMCmod and how do I play it?
ISMCmod is a total overhaul modification that adds tonnes of new content such as weapons, attachments, cosmetics, gear and more to Insurgency Sandstorm for both PVE and PVP. If you simply wish to play the mod, you can join one of the official servers (listed on our Discord & Mod.io page or the variety of community servers running the mod in the server browser by looking for the keyword ISMC! Additionally you can copy paste in an IP address of the server in the server browser and press enter. There are no passwords on Official servers and there is no need to subscribe to the mod as it will download for you automatically.
Server Admin Guide:
If you want to run your own server with ISMC there are two ways of doing so.
1.You can run your own server using the Insurgency: Sandstorm Dedicated Server under Tools in your Steam Library (Hard)
2.You can rent an Insurgency Sandstorm server using a provider such as Gameservers.com. (Easy)
There are 5 main configuration files you will need to change and their respective locations if you’re using the Steam Dedicated Server:

It should look something like this although every provider sets it out different. Replace the stuff in quotes:

You can change the map, scenario and gamemode to whatever you want: For example if you want to play day time Hideout Security Checkpoint enter this:

You must to add the following to your server command line to enable mods and add ISMCmod mutators like ISMCarmory to the list for example:
-Mods
-mutators=ISMCarmory

2.Game.ini
Changes a plethora of Sandstorm gameplay settings such as bot count, timers, and more. This is where most of the customization will be done for your server. Some mods allow for Game.ini customizaton and we are planning to allow players to change ISMC settings through the Game.ini as well
Refer to their respective mod.io pages for Game.ini configs.

3.Admins.txt
A steamID is a unique identifier used to identify a Steam account can be used to give access to the admin menu in game.

Simply enter your friend’s steam URL Steamcommunity.com into the website above and it will give you a SteamID64 like this:
4.Mods.txt
Here you will place the mod ID of your selected mods on your server. The mod IDs can be found on the their mod.io pages

You can also add a ; as a comment after it e.g:

5.MapCycle.txt
Here you’ll place the map name and what sort of game mode and lighting scenario you want.
Here are several examples of how to launch Hideout Checkpoint with Security & Insurgency theatres as well as day and night lighting. You can do this for any gamemode.

Local Play Instructions:
If you want to play the mod offline in local play subscribe to the mod on mod.io Insurgencysandstorm.mod.io to download the mod. Launch into any game of local play enter in these console commands (Press ` the Tilde key) :
Replace the stuff in quotes to change the map, scenario and gamemode: For example if you want to play day time Hideout security checkpoint:
Furthermore you can customize the supply limits and bot count etc through the Game.ini located in:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient

(above TAB) to open the console and put inside the command :
♣ Note: Certain maps have differences between the map name and the scenario ,(for example buhriz-Tideway ) the Easiest way to load vanilla maps without searching for map names is to load first the tell console command above and after you spawn you can press K to open admin menu and change to any map/mode/lighting you want.
Now just Click enter and it should load the map if it doesn’t work try to click `
again twice your map and mods should load . 9/26/2021 .

In order to change map/daytime click K to open developer menu and go to levels section and choose a map/mode. | allyoucaneat = 100 supply points.
If your map doesn’t load with the mods try loading it as ‘Security’ fraction and after that you can click swap team in the menu to change back to insurgents.
in order to replace number of bots change it under Bbots=6 If it doesn’t work for you go to the next step for another solution. Add this for night mode: ?lighting=night?

✬ Note: if the map doesn’t load you may need to restart your game or first load it online via the server browser .
♦ Tricks and possible solutions
If you cant open the console try checking
If your map doesn’t load with mods try loading it as ‘Security’ faction and after that you can click swap team in the menu to change back to insurgents
♦Third person view- open console in game and write camera freecam to exit to first person click esc . (Install Shouldercam mutator in order to have better view).
♦ Make Mod.io folder smaller (delete dupes) via Power-shell script
Mod.io used to redownload files when launching game or entering a new modded server.
in order to clean it without losing any mod First download this power-shell script after that open it in notepad and change [string]$insmodio = to your Mod.io
folder location, once done click «save as» and save it with .ps1 extension for example : «cleanmodio.ps1″ , once done right click and press » Run with PowerShell » .
♦ Increase rifle power on limbs (Dismemberment) Credits to fantasiado

You can modify the number of how many bullets it takes to cut through by changing the value (1-20)

♦ Graphics improvements and stability options
Better Anti Aliasing- TAA Sharpness/View Distance: Add this to engine.ini
If you have fps impact from this you can lower the TemporalAAsamples (16-8-4-2).
— I also noticed huge improvement by changing it in nvidia control panel to ‘enhance program settings’ and changing setting ‘ anti aliasing mode ‘ to x16 . you can set for maximum performance and enable low latency if you have i5 cpu and you deal with stutters.
♦-Add -DX12 to game launch parameters or add it to a desktop shortcut .
♦-I noticed that my FPS went up and i had less stutter/drops in smoke or heavy situations when i deleted Gameusersettings.ini and engine.ini in AppData\Local\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient (Have to do it every update)
The game will Create new files once you do that but you will lose your previous settings in game so make a backup if needed.
I will keep adding fixes and such that i test and i find working on my system. I have 1060 6GB / 16GB ram / i5-7400 and i run the game at 60-110 FPS (depends the area/situation).
