In order to enable extension support in Firefox Nightly, you should follow the steps provided by Mozilla on their Blog

Internet Explorer

In the start menu search for the the «Network and Internet Settings» to open the settings. The last entry in the menu is the Proxy Settings, click it to your proxy to connect to I2P.

Теперь установите флажок «Использовать прокси-сервер для локальных подключений» а так же флажок «Не использовать прокси-сервер для локальных адресов». По нажатии кнопки Дополнительно открывается окно настроек прокси-сервера. Заполните поля как показано на картинке, адрес прокси-сервера 127.0.0.1 и порт 4444 для HTTP, порт 4445 для HTTPS. Нажав кнопку OK вы сохраните настройки тем самым подготовив браузер для использования I2P прокси-сервера.

Условия использования внешнего прокси

Помните: I2P не был спроектирован для создания прокси во внешний интернет. Вместо этого I2P предназначена для использования в качестве внутренней сети.

The I2P project itself does not run any proxies to the Internet. The only outproxy is a service from the privacy solutions project. Consider donating to them for a continued stable service. Increased funding will allow them to improve this service.

By default, I2P comes with two outproxies configured: false.i2p and outproxy-tor.meeh.i2p . Even the domain names are different, it’s the same outproxy you hit. (multi-homed/keyed for better performance)

Filtering is active on these outproxies (for example, mibbit and torrent tracker access is blocked). I2P Sites that are accessible via .i2p addresses are also not allowed via the outproxies. As a convenience, the outproxy blocks ad servers.

Tor is a good application to use as an outproxy to the Internet.

This is an Experimental webextension which introduces a set of new «Private
Browsing» modes to Firefox-based browsers(Supporting webextensions) that makes
it easier to configure a browser to use I2P securely and adds features for
making I2P applications easier to use. It does this by isolating I2P-specific
settings to Contextual Identities within Firefox, then loading them
automatically when the user requests them. It also adds convenience and
management features specific to I2P like protocol handlers and native messaging
systems.

  adding them directly into the Firefox downloads drop-downs, menus, etc. If I
  can. Right now instead of talking to snark-rpc, it uses a web-based protocl

  Proxy tunnel, each reflecting it’s own pseudonymous identity within I2P. The
  contextual identities. For now, the contextual identities used to manage
  browsing are «I2P Browsing» and «Web Browsing» where I2P Browsing is capable
  of using an outproxy but in the case of traffic destined for the clearnet
  does not do header rewriting, and Web Browsing falls back to the Proxy
  configured in Firefox. The I2P Browsing will be expanded to
  • I2P Amnesiac Browsing: Use for General Browsing, stores no history and
    uses an HTTP Proxy with a very short tunnel-close timeout and no key-reuse.
  • I2P Social Networking: Use this for logging into social network accounts,
    forums, and other interactive asynchronous public communication platforms
    where your identity is behaviorally linkable. This has a very long
    tunnel-close timeout and key-reuse until specifically invoked.
  • I2P Blogging: Use this for posting content to the web interface of your
    blog or to other similar websites that you create content on.

Super Extra Important Background Info:

This plugin’s viability is directly related to the viability of Mozilla and
Tor’s work on hardening Firefox itself and of particular interest are the
«Uplift» and «Fusion(Firefox Using Onions)» projects.

New versions of this extension create an I2P in Private Browsing mode instead.

I2P: Прозрачный доступ из любого браузера

Но куда уходить людям?

Что бы был доступ к информации, свобода слова и соблюдались хотя бы те правила, которые есть в конституции?

Mesh сети не подходят, Tor — тоже не может обеспечить требуемого, остается I2P.

Сегодня мы поговорим как настроить прозрачный доступ в I2P, с помощью которого каждая домохозяйка сможет открыть любой сайт в этой сети.

Первые шаги

Очевидно, что нам потребуется I2P, если он у вас еще не установлен — самое время это сделать, а то завтра, возможно, официальный сайт I2P тоже уйдет в блокировку.

Во время установки, согласитесь установить службу I2P, это позволит работать ей в фоновом режиме при включении компьютера.

Настраиваем

На странице http://127.0.0.1:7657/config выставите ограничение скорости равно 60% от вашего канала (можно больше, если не жалко)

Делаем легкий доступ из всех браузеров в системе

В поставку I2P входит файл автоматической настройки прокси в браузерах, в windows он находится тут:
C:\Program Files\i2p\scripts\i2pProxy.pac

Теперь его надо скормить IE.

Зайдите в настройки браузера —> Подключения —> Настройка сети

Использовать сценарий автоматической настройки —> вставьте адрес до этого файла C:\Program Files\i2p\scripts\i2pProxy.pac (Можете загрузить его на любой хостинг и вставить ссылку)

Вот и все

Теперь можете налить себе чашку чая и не спеша выпить её, интеграция нового узла в сеть i2p происходит не сразу, к моменту когда чашка будет пустой вы можете зайти на один из многих сайтов сети:

Любой браузер теперь имеет доступ к I2P сети
При такой настройке вас можно вычислить если кому-то это будет нужно с помощью двойного обращения.

Так что если вы собираетесь готовить покушение восстание или рассказывать о различных преимуществах тех или иных способов самоубийства — лучше используйте отдельный браузер для I2P, который может иметь доступ только к сети I2P
