5. приложение «WebDAV» из репозитория по п.1 коннектится нормально на адрес http://127.0.0.1:9912

сложности: если двухфакторная авторизация к мейл-аккаунту, то видимо в автозагрузку поставить это не получится (можно коннектиться только разово для одной задачи), т.к. запрос кода происходит в запускающем терминале.

Возникает ощущение крайней сырости всего софта.
Задача: синхронизировать папки в облаке (cloud.mail.ru, disk.yandex.ru) с NAS на текущий момент нерешаема.

Для синхронизации пытаюсь использовать
1. приложение Hybrid Backup Sync.
1.1 при синхронизации с яндекс-диском никакой синхронизации не происходит, процесс висит в статусе running и не потребляет ресурсов.
1.2 при попытке добавить яндекс-диск как webdav-ресурс, выдаёт ошибку «input error» без всяких объяснений.
1.3 при попытке добавить облако мейл.ру как webdav-ресурс, выдаёт ошибку «input error» без всяких объяснений.

2. Приложение WebDAV:
2.1 облако мейл.ру принимается как вебдав-ресурс, но приложение служит только для бэкапа, требует либо пустую папку, либо в корень создаёт сам папку /QNAP/Cloud_Backup/ , куда и пишет всё. Т.е. синхронизировать данные с существующей папкой с данными уже не получится.

Техподдержка пока вялая и даёт советы вида «попробуйте переустановить приложение».

столкнулся со странной ситуацией.
Если у кого было, поделитесь как ее решить ?

у меня модель Qnap TS-231P

Пришло очередное обновление и я обновился до версии 4.3.4.0675
после обновления произошли странные вещи:

1. изменился URL адрес админ зоны. был такой: http://192.168.0.119 , стал такой http://192.168.0.109
2. изменился MAC адрес
3. и самое главное что меня беспокоит, я теперь не могу выключить сервер через админ зону. Выбираю выключить, он выключается и сразу стартует.

На английском форуме почитал — там про это никто не пишет.
как быть, что делать?

Multimedia Console will not start

When installing Multimedia Console the displayed status (when hovering over the app icon) is «Multimedia Console Waiting. » and the multimedia console never installs. I uninstalled the multimedia console and related apps to try an fix an issue I’ve encountered where all multimedia content on all shared folders on the data volume is scanned and presented to DLNA client apps, despite only one shared folder being configured/specified for multimedia content delivery.

I’ve only noticed the issue with installing Multimedia Console since updating to the latest QNAP firmware, but that could be a coincidence.

I’ve tried restarting the NAS but when I try to load/start the Multimedia Console, nothing happens and if I click on the icon again, I get a message saying that the multimedia console is «starting up, please try again later», but it never does.

Has anyone else come across a similar issue? If so, did you manage to resolve it and if so, how?

I`ve same problem. In a german forum there is also someone else with this issue.
We all don´t know what to do.

To force re-installation via shell is also not working.

So a tech support guy from QNAP UK logged into my NAS via TeamViewer (running in a Hyper-V Linux VM I quickly created for this sort of thing) and sorted it out. I didn’t see exactly what he did in the SSH session but he ran a malware scanning script from QNAP’s download site and this claimed to have found one malware item. When I asked what it was he didn’t provide any detail. He re-installed the firmware to no avail and asked me to disconnect the second network cable I had plugged in to the NAS (I had it there to separate media streaming from file I/O and admin but as it was on the same network/subnet it could cause problems apparently). We went thru a few reboots after he’d installed the Multimedia Console from the main QNAP App Center at https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/app_center rather through the App Center on the NAS and that seemed to resolve the issue.

When I asked about the malware and for a summary of what had happened and what had been done, I got the following:

Looks like malware was blocking parts of the NAS from updating the firmware fully and the malware had redirected the url for the app center, ran our malware cleaning script, updated the firmware / re-flashed, then ran the malware script again and now the app Center installs apps, multimedia Console installed and running ok.

Thanks for that, what malware was it? I’ve no idea how any malware would’ve got onto the NAS as I only install apps from the app store, apart from installing iPerf3 from QNAPClub store. Can you please share the URL of your malware cleaning script.

Looked like Derek, sorry I am unable to share the script but you will no longer need it now, the malware took advantage of vunrabilities in the older firmware

Multimedia Console Removal

Can it be removed please?

If not, can indexing be stopped for good and not just paused please?
I can’t find how to limit indexing to specific shares or folders either.

Also, I’ve disabled thumbnail creation but it doesn’t delete the already create ones even by pressing the Remove All Thumbnails button, any clues?

Why QNAP keeps on pushing apps onto users I don’t understand, I was perfectly fine with TwonkyMedia (still available on my TS-253A).

As an interim mitigation, open up the multimedia console, and in the top-right of the window you’ll see a slider. Toggle it to «disabled» and it will disable all multimedia services provided by QNAP and prevent further indexing or thumbnail creation. It will survive a reboot, although, as you’ve already alluded to, you’ll have to SSH in to clean up the mess it will have added to the filesystem, manually.

Mine was already disabled using the old «Disable Multimedia Services» option in previous firmware versions, and that choice carried over to the new 4.4.1 firmware, so while the app itself is enabled and running, the services it provides are not.

EDIT: QNAP will consider this a «core» add-on, much like the «Network & Virtual Switch» or the «Storage & Snapshots» add-ons. It’s simply been de-coupled from the main QTS UI. Don’t hold your breath waiting for QNAP to offer the option to remove it completely, because I’d bet that won’t be forthcoming. Disabling it will work just as well though. Bear in mind it wasn’t possible to «remove» the Multimedia Services in previous firmwares either, so your neither gaining or losing anything by not being able to do so with the new «add-on» approach. Just disable it, and move on.

if u set the option within multimedia console to

1. don’t index
2. don’t generate thumbnails

thats effectively not using this anymore, isn’t it? the goal is not to create space wastage right?

even when i was using it, it only used roughlty 3-4 gb for a couple thousand items (videos, pics, music and some documents)

the app will still be there for those that actually use it (e.g. indexing and thumbnails for the native qnap apps like filestation, qsirch, photostation, qumagie)

but that said. the thumbnail generation hasn’t fully worked for me for a long while. In the logs it would say some media files would fail to generate thumbnails . i reported this issue a couple of times already, and still not fixed (at least for me).

I figured why thumbnail didn’t work for me. the issue was they had removed support for h265, so because most of my media is that format, that is why i get a lot of failed to create thumbnail alerts.

PMS use their OWN indexing. thats why when i scan plex, it doesn’t care if u scan with qnap multimedia management or this new multimedia console, because no relation afaik.

PMS also does it’s OWN thumbnail generation as well.

it has it’s own DLNA if you want to use that as well

You can’t disable indexing, only pause it, and after a reboot it resumes.

You can disable thumbnails creation, though already created ones remain and take up space.

The most annoying aspect, besides being unable to disable indexing permanently, it that it runs on all shares, not just those dedicated to DLNA or other multimedia services.
