When you experience a crash, should also immediately enable additional reporting information to better enable the development team to investigate your crashing issue.

If you can open Streamlabs OBS:

• Go to Settings > General
• Tick the box for «Enable reporting additional information on a crash» (requires restart)
• Restart Streamlabs OBS

> Note: Streamlabs OBS needs to crash again to proceed to the next step

• You should see a prompt asking «Share additional information to the developers?», click «Yes»
• Once you see additional debug information saved successfully, click «Yes» again.
• When the progress bar has filled, and it indicates `Successfully uploaded the additional debug information, please highlight the filename and copy it (either right-click > copy or CTRL+C)
• Paste the file name into your chat with support.

> Please note this process can take several minutes

If you can’t open Streamlabs OBS:

• Copy: %appdata% then press the Windows Key on your keyboard, Press CTRL + V, then press Enter.
• Find the slobs-client folder and create a new folder named «CrashMemoryDump»
• Please try to launch Streamlabs OBS. It should prompt you with a window asking to provide additional information to the developers. Click «Yes».
• Once you see additional debug information saved successfully, click «Yes» again.
• When the progress bar has filled, and it indicates «Successfully uploaded the additional debug information», please highlight the filename and copy it (either right-click > copy or CTRL+C)
• Paste the file name into the chat with support

Preparation

Before we get into solutions and breakdown of what happens when Streamlabs OBS crashes, you should always ensure that your drivers are up to date.

Updating Windows

• Search «update» in your Windows Start Menu > Check System Updates. You can then press the Check for Updates button to see if you’re on the latest update.
• Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 redistributable(both x64-bit and x32-bit)
  If you get a setup failed error, please go to windows apps and find the newest c++ entries (usually bottom of the list) and click on each one. Choose to modify then repair and restart after repairing both of them
  

Updating GPU Drivers

Another option is to perform a clean install of your GPU drivers. We have a guide on how to do this here.

Solutions

• Re-Download Streamlabs OBS and run the installer as administrator. (Right-click the installer file > run as administrator)
• Start Streamlabs OBS as administrator. (Right-click the shortcut > run as administrator)
• Open your Firewall as well as allow Streamlabs OBS through any Antivirus software you run
• IPv6 Fix
• Install DirectX (If DirectX does not work, then please try this as well.)

Missing tabs

There are three tabs that can be hidden in the chatbot.

• Discord tab is hidden for YouTube since they do not support discord integration
• Scripts tab is hidden until you connect streamer and bot account under

• to the streamer’s channel
• Subscribers tab is hidden for YouTube

Scripts not loading

There are no default scripts with the bot currently so in order for them to install they must have been imported manually.

1. Download a .zip file containing the script (preferably from chatbot discord)
2. Go into the scripts tab and press import the top right corner
3. Select the .zip file you downloaded in step 1
4. Hit open and after a short time it should pop up a message confirming that it was a successful import.When troubleshooting scripts your best help is the error view. You can find it in the top right corner of the scripts tab.

• No module named os / json
• Make sure python 2.7.13 x86 is installed. Don’t use newer versions of python or x64
• Make sure the lib folder path found in scripts tab ->settingsleads to the lib folder located inside the python folder that was created when installing python. By default this would look like THIS
• Unexpected token

• Make sure you installed python 2.7.13 x86 and NOT python 3.X

Minigames aren’t working

Minigames require you to enable currency before they can be used, this still applies even if the cost is 0.
Heist

• Command needs to be followed by a value (!heist 10)
• Heist will show a message saying that it’s open and people can join
• People joining won’t get a message unless enabled in heist message settings
• Start delay needs to be at least 1 to give users the time to join in
• If not enough people (lower than min entries) enters it get cancelled

• Command needs to be followed by a target (!challenge must13)
• Users competing in a duel need to have enough currency (same or above the cost)
• A message will be triggered and the target must answer with the original user (!challenge castorr91)
• Expiry time needs to be at least 1 or the target got 0 minutes to accept the challenge

Free For All

• Only the first one starting the game will get a response
• Users competing in the Free for All need to have enough currency (same or above the cost)
• Start delay needs to be at least 1 to give users the time to join in
• If not enough people (lower than min entries) enters it get cancelled
• Minimum entries must be at least 2, fights need at least 2 people

• When the timer runs out the needs to be a boss that got the interval as the amount of praticipants. If no boss is found for the group size it gets cancelled.

If minigames still aren’t working make sure that settings -> usage -> minigames are set to match where you try to use them. Minigames can only be either discord or stream chat and not both.

Bot size is huge/tiny on one or multiple monitors

Right click the chatbot shortcut -> go to the compability tab -> change scaling option to system «Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:» -> select system. If your shortcut is in the task bar you have to right click the icon -> right click where it says «Streamlabs Chatbot» and then you go to the compability tab. Example

Notifications aren’t working

Click the in the bottom left corner of the bot and go to streamlabs

1. Disconnect from Streamlabs
2. Generate token (make sure it’s using the streamer account)
3. Connect to Streamlabs

Note that you also need to have any widget open. Alert box/event list/ chat box/streamlabels/ Streamlabs OBS

Can’t update game/tile through dashboard or command

Your twitch token for the streamer account expired. Please generate a new one connections -> twitch streamer -> disconnect -> generate token -> connect

Captcha won’t stop repeating during setup wizard

This only happens during the first time you launch the bot so you just need to get it through the wizard once to be able to use the bot. Generally speaking there are 3 ways to do this.
1) Follow the steps below to set up a shortcut to skip the setup wizard.

• Make sure to close the Chatbot completely.
• Right click on the Streamlabs Chatbot shortcut (if you don’t have one please create one)
• Select properties
• Place your cursor at the very end of the target input box
• Add a space right behind the «
• Type in twitch behind the space, if done correctly it should look like this
• Hit Apply and try to launch the bot, the setup wizard should now be skipped.
• In order to connect the bot please press the in the bottom left corner and use the links below to generate tokens in your browser.

2) Using a VPN, we only recommend trying this if you got experience with using a VPN.
3) Please make sure you have tried #1 carefully and as last possible option visit the discord and ask any support member for help.

Can’t generate token

This is due to a connection issue between the bot and the site it needs to generate the token.

• Make sure there’s an exception for the bot in your firewall
• Make sure there’s an exception for the bot in your antivirus/windows defender
• Disabling IPv6 has resolved the issue for some users: guide

1. You will only receive donations if viewers donate to you via the Streamlabs donation link.

It usually looks like this:

www.streamlabs.com/donate/YOUR TWITCH USERNAME

if you prefer to use the word tip instead-

www.streamlabs.com/tip/YOUR TWITCH USERNAME

IE. If they donate to you with DonationAlerts/Paypal direct link, you will not receive notifications using Streamlabs.

2. Make sure your Paypal email is verified. Paypal does not allow an unverified account to accept money.

3. Make sure your Paypal account is set to accept all currencies. You can do this in your seller preferences or click here.

4. Make sure the person actually sent you the donation/tip. If it showed up in your chat as «username donated $100.00» this may be someone faking a donation. Check the above, and be sure that the donation shows in your donation history to verify that it is a legitimate donation/tip.

WARNING- if your donor has made a donation via bank account or eCheck it will take a few days for Paypal to clear the charge. Donations that are in «pending» status on your Paypal will NOT show up on your dashboard, only CLEARED transactions.

To get started click «Alert Box» on the left sidebar. Then near the top of the page copy your «Alert Box link».

Streamlabs OBS Instructions:

No need to copy your URL from our site- simply click the + button to add a source and select the Alert Box Widget from the list.

X-split Instructions:

Open Xsplit and click add. Mouse down to Other and click “Url source”. Paste your widget link in.

OBS Instructions

Open OBS and click add. Mouse down to “Browser Source”. You will be prompted to add your link.

Gameshow Instructions:

Click add > web display and paste your link and click «ok».

Testing Alerts:

You can click test at the top of the Alertbox page or the bottom of Slobs to test at any time.
