isn’t Unity Mod Manager for installing the mods to the game?
i keep trying to run the unity mod manager to install the mods i downloaded, but it just gives a pop-up saying: No Updates, so if it doesn’t install the mods how do I use the mods, as from what I read, I need the Unity Mod Manager to install mods

How do your adjust settings without the UMM?
kage — you are right, I do mean that directory. Have you updated UMM? It got an update a couple of days ago; you need to Update & Install again, if you haven’t.
Put UMM in a folder and run the exe from there.
Put the mods downloaded either in the same folder or a mods folder.
Now point UMM to the mods and install.
umm could the mods prevent the game from working? not sure how to explain what’s happening when trying to launch the game
you know how before launching a game on steam, it has that green play button, and after clicking it when launching it becomes blue and says cancel?
well, when I hit play, it goes to blue says cancel briefly, then stop briefly, then turns back green play

Thanks for the reply! I ended up fixing the problem by rebooting my computer, which I should have tried first in any case, lol. I’m looking forward to 1.2, then!

Hi! I’m having a problem with the Vortex mod manager. When I try to activate the Pathfinder: Kingmaker game to add mods (and what have you), it comes up with a message saying that I have to install Unity Mod Manager (UMM) to use mods with Kingmaker, and it offers a link to the UMM page on The Nexus. The only problem is that I already have the UMM installed.
UMM seems to be functioning correctly when I run the game, and Vortex works with other games fine, although I don’t have it managing any other UMM games. I’ve restarted Vortex and run PF:KM multiple times, and everything that needs to have Admin has Admin.
Any ideas? If I can’t use Vortex with PF:KM, no big deal — I mostly just want the Turn-Based Combat map and some extra portraits, so it’s not that big of a deal to do it using UMM itself. That having been said, this is going to drive me insane if I can’t get to the bottom of it lol.

Respecialization mod is possibly outdated as rather useless, considering there’s both the in-game official respecialization NPC and other mods/save editors allowing to edit anything to fill its role (both Bag of tricks and AscemiPathdfinder editor offer ways to respec among far more things).
Ie using Bag of Tricks you can reset any char level to 0, then add back the needed xp to respec as you want, and finally use game to «level» the character in his new speciality. Or using AscemiEditor you can directly change classes, level, skills, etc. of your companions in the save.
I run it with Bad of Tricks without any problems.
It is not useless, full respec is only available with the mod.
Where exactly do you try to do the respec anyway?
It is possible only on locations with your party.
You cannot do it on the map screen. This is the place where i got «No character available or in wrong location».

The readme says you must use it from a location where you can control the party member you are trying to respec, sounds like user error if you’ve only tried it from the map screen and one-person locations like the throne room and Oleg’s.
Bag of tricks doesn’t interfere with it. Make sure you have the most updated version. Make sure you have the party and you can use respec in your capital, otherwise go to somewhere like bald top Hill. Then open up the umm in game and click on respec mod and the person you want.
If it’s still not working quickly start a new game and you can respec in the proluge (you’ll need bag of tricks to add 1000gp)

If I reset their level to level «0». does that allow me to change classes, specializations, races, etc?

You do though. This kind of respect isn’t just putting your points in differently. It’s changing the characters from the point of character creation. because they are hot garbage with their preset stats/feats.

You didnt mention what kind of respec, but I was able to figure it out with context clues in later posts

Как установить:
1. Загрузите файл UnityModManager.zip
2. Распакуйте архив (например, на рабочий стол, не копируйте его в папку с игрой.) И запустите UnityModManager.exe (рекомендуется запускать от имени администратора)
4. Если программа не открывается, попробуйте установить Net Framework 4 , в противном случае перейдите к следующему
5. Выберите игру из списка. Если папка с игрой не определяется автоматически, выберите ее самостоятельно (например, / Steam / steamapps / common / YourGame /) (путь должен содержать только английские буквы)
