Ok, so I’ll do /pex group owner prefix &9&l[&b&lOwner&9&l] and it will say that the prefix for owner was set to that. But then, when I type in chat, there’s no prefix. Please help, I want to go public, but without prefixes, I can’t.

Also, I’m set as owner.

My IGN is KonaTheBaconator.

Ensure that you do have a chat management plugin installed.

Most people use Spigot as their server wrapper, and the most common chat management plugin for Spigot is from EssentialsX, called EssentialsXChat. EssentialsXChat also requires Vault to be installed.

That’ll depend on which chat management plugin you’re using. The plugins based on «ChatManager» (ChatManager, ChatManager+, ChatEx, and others) won’t work with PEX. You’ll need to test the chat plugins and read the documentation about them to see if it’s based on ChatManager.

Personally, I always used EssentialsChat for my CraftBukkit server (notice, no X in that name), but that version of Essentials and EssentialsChat was discontinued at Minecraft 1.8 several months ago.

GEEZ! That sure was quick! I don’t know if this will help, but these are my Pugins (14): CoreProtect, WorldEdit, Citizens, Playtime, Essentials, ColoredTab, ColoredChat, PermissionsEx, PlotSquared, notnt, Marriage, Multiverse-Core, EnjinMinecraftPlugin, HolographicDisplays

Ah, ok. So you’re just barely outside the window to use «EssentialsChat». You could always try it, but reports have indicated it didn’t work past «1.8».

EssentialsChat comes in that .zip file. Be sure to also install Vault.

Also, if I we’re to become 1.10, does that mean I need all new plugins?

Yep. Most of the time, even changing from 1.2.3 to 1.2.4 (which is called a minor update) can lead to plugins not working correctly, so all plugins should be tested if you update the server.

Going from 1.2.3 to 1.3.0 is called a major update. And since what you’d be doing is a ‘major’ update, it’s likely most of your plugins will also need updates.

If I already have essentials downloaded, should I just install vault? Or is EssentialsChat a whole diffrent thing?

I won’t lock a thread unless someone’s rude to me or the PEX programmer. (I’m a little slow to reply at the moment because I’m helping about 4 people with different problems: yours here, and a couple over in the PEX forums.)

Definitely install Vault, then see how the plugins list looks.

EssentialsChat comes in the Essentials.zip file you downloaded. If someone was using Spigot’s EssentialsXChat, then they’d get EssentialsXChat over here.

In the screenshot I just posted, there’s a list of my plugins after /reload do I need to restart the server from console?

The /reload command can crash your server, so it’s better to just shut the server down and restart it. (Reload crashes the server after about 3-4 uses.)

Typically when a plugin’s name comes up red, there’s an error in their config.yml files.

Since Essentials files can be rather long, it may take you a while to look through them to find the mistake.

And if you can’t find the mistake, you may need to delete the file and let the server create the file again, then re-edit the file (more carefully, this time) to get it back to how you want it for your server.

Two methods to find config.yml errors:

1. Try to remember where you’ve changed things in the file. Look through those areas to make sure you didn’t type something incorrectly.
2. Copy the file to your desktop, let the server make the file brand new, then open both files and compare them to find out where the errors may be.

Oh, they’re still red? Not working then. It may be like I originally suspected, that 1.7.9/1.8 Essentials doesn’t work on your server.

You may have to make the change to using Spigot instead of Craftbukkit. :-[

Not if you switch to using Spigot 1.8.8; the only thing you’d need to replace would be Essentials to EssentialsX (linked above) and EssentialsChat to EssentialsXChat (also linked above).

As for setting up a Spigot server, lots of guides and YouTube videos for that stuff, so you won’t need me for that. (And that’s a good thing, since I’ve never actually set up a Spigot server myself.)

I need help i have EssentialsChat i have tons of group and permissions yet when i set someone as the group no prefix is shown a prefix is only shown when you set it on that person which creates a entire new group.
I have PEX and essentialschat please

Почему на сервере перестали работать префиксы?
Было пол года всё нормально.
Версия : 1.5.2

Удалил ClanWar всё равно не работает!

Туториал по настройке PermissionsEx (PEX)

И так, наверно у каждого из вас, кроме опытных держателей серверов имеются проблемы с настройкой прав доступа.
Лично я использую плагин PermissionsEx, так как считаю что это самый лучший плагин распределения прав доступа для серверов.

Что нам понадобится:

1. Notepad++
2. Сам плагин. Последнюю версию можно всегда скачать тут.
3. Прямые руки. (Обязательный пункт)

И так, начнем.

1. Скачиваем плагин, распаковываем. В папке есть 3 файла:

2. Закидываем файлы в папку с плагинами, запускаем сервер, останавливаем.
Там появились 3 папки:
PermissionsEx, ChatManager и ModifyWorld

3. Открываем папку PermissionsEx. В этой папке открываем файл permissions.yml с помощью Notepad++
И видим это:

И так, по порядку:
groups: //не трогаем данное слово, оно указывает на то, что ниже будут идти группы и их permissions.
default: //название группы в неё попадают все только что зашедшие на сервер пользователи, если конечно вы не прописали их в другую группу.
default: true // данный параметр задаёт группу, как группу по-умолчанию. это означает, что все права этой группы будет иметь любой игрок, для которого не определены другие группы и/или исключения.
permissions: //всё что идёт ниже, это собственно и есть сами «права» для группы, туда нужно прописывать permissions от различных плагинов установленных на вашем сервере.

Данный Permissions настроен для плагинов: CommandBook, MyHome, VanishNoPickup, Jobs, LWC, WorldEdit, iConomy, iConomy ChestShop, WorldGuard.

Здесь как вы могли заметить появились новые параметры:

info: //параметры группы
prefix: » //префикс
suffix: » //суффикс

// для отображения префиксов/суффиксов необходимо включить плагин ChatManager, который входит в состав PEX. Для этого в папке plugins/ChatManager/ в файле config.yml находим enable и меняем его при необходимости с enable: false на enable: true

inheritance: //наследование прав
— Default //в данном случае наследуются все права группы «default»
Так же вы могли заметить что появился параметр users:
под ним нужно указывать никнеймы пользователей, которым вы хотите дать дополнительные права и/или переместить в другую группу. К примеру:

Moderator:
group:
— Moder
permissions: null

где «Moderator»-никнейм игрока, «Moder»- название группы, permissions: null-дополнительные права для этого пользователя, в данном случае их нет.

Запомните! В YAML нужно чётко соблюдать последовательность, один лишний пробел и параметр не будет работать.

Примечание от idg_dima: YAML отлично работает с лишними проблемами или даже с пустыми строками, единственное, от чего он ломается — табуляция.
И приносим свои изменения за задержку при проверки статьи, были очень заняты кое-какими делами, в том числе и подготовкой сервера к переезду.

Здравствуйте! Я написал для плагина Permission ex настройки, всё работает игрок получает начальную группу, но я не могу не себе не другим выдать любые другие превелегии.

Я писал вручную в файле и командой, префикс и суфикс появляются но сами разрешения не выдаются. В файле прописано разрешение на флай но на сервере оно не работает.
