WP Bakery Page Builder not Working with New WordPress Editor [ SOLVED ]

If you already have the WPBakery Page Builder plugin installed and activated on your WordPress installation and try to install and activate the new WP Gutenberg Editor, you will find out that neither of them works. The Gutenberg editor displays WPBakery shortcodes as plain text and there is no way to switch to the Page Builder editor using the Backend Editor button, as was the case with the old WordPress (TinyMCE) editor. Thankfully, we’ve got an easy workaround for that:

Log in to your installation, go to Dashboard > Plugins and click Add New.

Then, on the search field look for Classic Editor from WordPress Contributors

Install and Activate the plugin

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Writing and make sure that the “Replace the Gutenberg editor with the Classic editor“ is selected.

Alternatively, you can select the option to “Use the Gutenberg editor by default and include optional links back to the Classic editor” if your work is not dependent so much on Page Builder and, you are planning to use the new editor.

Save changes and check your website.

At this point, the Page Builder Backend option should have been restored and you will now be able to continue your work as usual.

WPBakery Page Builder Backend Editor Not Working

I have recently set up a new website with WPBakery page builder however the backend editor is not displaying. I only get the options to edit content under the «Visual» or «Text» tabs and there is no option for a block editor (please see screenshot linked @ bottom). I have installed the «Classic Editor» plugin which has resolved this for me on other websites however it does not appear to make a difference.

Has anyone else had this issue / found a solution? I am running WPBakery page builder plugin v.6.1 and WordPress v.5.5.1.

The ultimate solution [fix] for WPBakery Page Builder under WP 5.5 Now, if nothing of the above have worked for you. The only thing left to consider is to actually downgrade your WordPress 5.5 back to say the last stable version which currently in 5.4.2.

There are basically two methods to downgrade the WordPress. You can download the WordPress 5.4.2 distribution package and install over the current, by uploading and extracting the archive on your hosting. But that’s the worst case scenario. So, here is the most simple and hassle-free option:

Download and activate the plugin WP Downgrade. Go to the plugin settings (Settings -> WP Downgrade) and input the version 5.4.2 and click Save changes. The page will refresh and suggest you to go to the Dashboard -> Updates. There you need to click on Re-install to version 5.4.2 Done!

Hello
I bought the love travel theme (from theme forest) with the WPBakery Visual Composer and I have more than 40 pages built with this plugin.
Recently it does not work in Backend editor (when I klick Backend editor it shows nothing but classic editor shows all the code and everything on the page)

WPBakery Visual Composer Version 4.11.2.1 (there is no announcement for updating)
WordPress Version 5.3.2 updated to 5.4 (the problem still remains)
PHP Version 7.3
I disabled all other plugins and nothin changed (there is no conflict)
Role manager is enabled for users

What worked for me:
I downgraded with the WP downgrade plugin from 5.5.3 to 5.5.1
I went into my wp editor and found the panel hanging on the right tab of the screen where you normally have Feature image and Publish post.
I then dragged WP bakery builder back to the regular position.
Problem solved.

I’m not sure if there’s a change in what’s getting called between WP versions, but there appears to be a difference in the way php5.6 and php7.3+ are configured.

I turned on nginx debugging and saw that permission was denied to a few js and css files that WPBakery requires. By default, php is only allowed to execute .php files. Updating the “ security.limit_extensions ” in /etc/php-fpm.d/www.conf fixed the problem for me. This file path will likely change based on the Linux distribution you’re using. Assuming you have access to the server, you can run find /etc -iname ‘*www.conf*’ and it’ll give you the location of that file. Then you can edit the file to include .css, .js, and whatever else you need.

This is what I have:
security.limit_extensions = .php .php3 .php4 .php5 .php7 .css .js

You could leave it blank and allow it to execute everything, but that’s not wise in terms of security, as it’ll open you to the risk of malicious php injections.

Почему Backend редактор WPBakery Page Builder визуально не работает?

1) попробуйте перенести сайт заново и проверьте целостность файлов и БД после переноса
2) поочередно отключайте плагины и поменяйте тему (смотрю, что вы уже сделали
3) попробуйте переустановить этот плагин и сделать upgrade / downgrade, чтобы исключить проблему с ним

У меня была почти похожая проблема когда-то..
Проблема у меня была в следующем, в премиум теме были свои дополнения для visual composer. При использовании этого дополнения (из-за какого-то бага) все что было ниже добавлялось на сайт, но не отображалось визулаьно в редакторе. Решение — обновить тему до актуальной версии.
Исходя из этого, может быть вы исопльзуете какой-нибудь дополнение или дополнение темы, которое может быть несовместимо и выдает ошибку.

Другая проблема, которая была у меня, это когда были уже созданные страницы на visual composer (5.0.1) и после обновления до актуальной версии они перестали корректно отображаться (из-за того, что разработчики почему-то не учли обратную совместимость). Помню, я перезалил файл стилей со старого плагина в новый, после чего аккордеон и другие расширения стали корректно отображаться.

2. тоже делал
3. а вот тут проблема, тема уже не поддерживаемая (ей года два минимум наверно), ну и данный плагин шел в комплекте темы, соответственно, ключа для про версии нет.

т.е. как я понял либо покупать новую тему, или покупать WP Bakery или пытаться делать downgraid темы/wp/плагинов. что в общем проблемно будет сделать.
