I just downloaded the latest version and I have it, so chance are, you need to apply this «fix»:
If you have Intel, follow my instructions, if you Nvidia, follow Ani’s instructions.
If by some chance you have AMD, then you need to apply the same procedure, but you need to find the folder where the json file for AMD is stored.

Any idea.
Did you follow Ani’s steps to the letter , or did you use your own path?
If you followed Ani’s, then it could be the path to the file is wrong.
When you run vulkaninfo.exe, does it says «loaderGetDeviceRegistryEntry: Located json file. » at one of the lines at the start?

Thanks for your advice! Yes i used the letter version.
Now I found that i have 2 versions of Vulkan.
One is 1.0.3.0 with the first 29 lines of vulkaninfo:

@»albundy» Ah, I see, I will try to keep it simple then.
So here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Check what is the latest version of Vulkan you have
— Path should be at » C:\Program Files (x86)\VulkanRT\ «, open the folder with the latest date (that is, highest version number) and run vulkaninfo.exe
— I assume this is the 10.0.65.0 from above, so that’s done.
2. Go to » C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ » and look for folders starting with » nv_dispi.inf_amd64_ »
— Open the folder with the latest date (should be the date when you installed the drivers, but just pick the latest one)
— Find the » nv-vk64.json » file and copy the path to it
— Path will look like this: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_xxxxxxxx\nv-vk64.json , where xxxxxxxx is the random text in the folder name
3. In registery editor (regedit), go to «HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\Vulkan\Drivers»
— Right click on the «Drivers» folder and select «New > DWORD (32 bit) Value» and paste the path to nv-vk64.json you got earlier (make sure there are no quotes) as the name
— The value should be 0 by default, but if not, double click the new entry and set value to 0
4. Run the vulkaninfo.exe from the latest version again
— it should say that it loaded the json file from registry, even if not, try looking if RPCS3 can load it
If this doesn’t help, then somebody else needs to help.

Hi all,
I have found that the Vulkan Renderer became unavailable when I installed the nVidia drivers released on 08-Jan-2018. I tried it on the newest RPCS3 release and versions that Vulkan was available previously. I am unsure how to reactivate Vulkan renderer.
Many thanks for any help I might get with this!
Update: Just download the latest NVIDIA drivers alongside the latest RPCS3 version.

Hi, iám new in this ps3 emulator..
i have problems regarding vulkan renderer.. it doesn’t appear on GPU configuration renderer list.. My GPU is GTX 1050 Ti, i have checked it and i believe it’s supported.. my OS is Windows 10 and CPU is Ryzen 5 1500x.. i have install the latest graphic cards driver..
is there someting needs to be done to enable vulkan renderer?
Known issue with latest NVIDIA drivers.
Under «HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\Vulkan\Drivers», create a new REG_DWORD, name it «C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5601d21ccd639df9\nv-vk64.json», and put the value as 0.

I did not realise that was a known error while searching but from the time I submit the thread, I discovered that yes the latest Nvidia driver does not install Vulkan right at all. I spent hours trying to fix it and just a few minutes before checking here again, I found this thread which has the exact solution you provided:

I have no idea how a problem like that could pass nVidia quality control, but, thank you so much for your solution. I confirm, it works.
Edit: To fix grammar etc

sorry googletranslate
Normally when you install Vulkan run times, it copies «nv-vk64.json» and «nvoglv64.dll» (I can’t check the name of this one from here) and the 32 bit versions to «/Windows/system32/» and then sets the registry in «HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Khronos \ Vulkan \ Drivers» to have a dword named as the path to the json file.
While there is this problem with installing Vulkan, it’s sufficient, rather than manually copying files to system32, just to point to the json in the driverstore folder in «HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Khronos \ Vulkan \ Drivers». The json points to the folder it is stored in for the required dll files, and the correct files are beside it in the driverstore.
But in case there is variation in the folder in the driverstore, check in «/windows/system32/driverstore /» for the location of the json file in the newest driver folder, and confirm its in the registry.
Oh but after setting the location in registry, you need to reboot or run vulkaninfo.exe which is in a sub folder in «/program files (x86)/Vulkan RT/».
Them Vulkan should correctly appear in RPCS3.

Don’t see anything wrong
Maybe it’s a bug specific to older CPUs?
I think you need to press X or Enter in the first screen for something to show up, don’t remember exactly
You can try three things
First, try verifying your game dump with PS3 Disc Dumper
https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=H. game_dumps
Second, try booting the .self file for the game directly inside path_to_disc/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/XXXX.self , probably kingdom2.self or something similar
Third, try using both PPU and SPU Decoders on Interpreter (Precise) and see if it works
I’ve tried all of the suggestions you have offered, sadly none of them yielded any results, game still boots and runs with a black screen. I’m going to reload windows and reinstall the drivers, I think vulkan has a few issues because recently I used DDU in the past i got the game to boot properly once and after I closed it to do controller mapping, it never launched again, So it can launch and used to work flawlessly in the past on both of my machines.
The issues started when I installed Doom 2016 and updated my vulkan drivers to their latest runtime available, so I can only assume that has caused an issue with RPCS3 and the vulkan it uses vs the latest version available.
Same for me it seems, but I only have Demon’s Souls to test (game verified with the program mentioned above, no problem, all 12k+ files are valid).
Vulkan gives me a black screen (I can hear the game tho), I have «Write Color Buffers» checked since it’s apparently required for this game.
It seems to work fine with OpenGL. Apparently Vulkan is much faster, that’s why I’d like to be able to use it.
i5 4670K and a GTX 970 with up-to-date drivers (446.14). Vulkan works fine in games (DOOM 2016, Talos Principle, etc.) and programs (RetroArch for example).
Sorry for not updating this earlier, I was waiting for my post to be approved by moderation and then went to sleep :p
So I’m not sure why but it’s now working for me, what I did (from what I can recall at least): extracted a previous version in a different location and the game worked, switched back to my «primary» RPCS3 and it started to work. But that doesn’t make too much sense to me, AFAIK since it was in a different folder, it shouldn’t have affected my «primary» RPCS3, right?
Maybe I had something running in the background that was conflicting with RPCS3 somehow? I’m really not sure :/ But I’ll try to be more precise if it happens to me again.
