Where do I get SINEplayer, how do I install it and how to I download?

Does SINEplayer replace Kontakt? Can I continue to use my Kontakt collections?

SINEplayer is our custom-built platform that houses new OT Collections (beginning with JXL Brass). It comes for free with any collection that uses it. We plan on porting all existing collections to it, with existing customers receiving free crossgrades to the SINEplayer versions of their collections for all collections they’ve bought before the release of the respective SINEplayer version. Your Kontakt-based collections will continue to work as usual.

Why is OT creating a new player instead of just creating nice collections for Kontakt?

What is the copy protection? Do I need a dongle?

SINEplayer uses its own copy protection system. You do not need any kind of dongle. Collections are licensed to your account and you can install any purchase on up to three machines.

Does SINEplayer need to be always-online? What about offline machines?

SINEplayer needs to get online once after installation to activate. It also needs an internet connection to download instruments, though you can download instruments on whichever machine you like and transfer them to another machine (even cross-platform). After SINEplayer has been activated, you never need to go online again if you download your instruments on another machine. We however recommend letting SINEplayer online at least sporadically so you can benefit from updates.

Does SINEplayer phone home? Will the online functionality impact my sequencer?

No, SINEplayer just updates Metadata content from our servers when the Store or MyLicenses are opened (and of course only if it is online). It does not transmit any other information. Apart from an online check when loading («yes/no»), no actions are performed unless you deliberately open the Store View or MyLicenses. The store components do not get loaded until you actively engage them.

Can I import my existing OT collections into SINEplayer?

How many machines can I install JXL Brass on?

Does SINEplayer work in Vienna Ensemble Pro?

Is Download and Purchasing a-la-carte available with SINEplayer?

Does the SINEplayer player work in Pro Tools?

makes me wonder

@OrchestralTools I have a continuous sustain pedal — and sine hates it. Does anyone there have a non switch style sustain pedal to test with? I realize it’s not common, but would be nice to be able to use the sustain pedal while having a sine track armed without having to midi panic

I’m having the same problem with SINE (1.0.4): It crashes Logic whenever loading or unloading instruments. Sometimes it freezes (force quit necessary) and sometimes it just crashes the whole Logic project.

I hope the OT team will fix this soon with a new update, because right now I’m not able to use any of their instruments on my projects.

Does anyone that has MA1 in SINE (1.04) knows if you’re able to activate legato on High Strings? I’m only able to activate it on Sustain Octaves/Legato and Sustain Octaves but in any other long articulation such as Unison Sus or Marcatos it fails to activate. I’m able change to legato on Low Strings so that’s why I’m confused.

SINE Player 1.04 also unusable inside my DAW. Crashes Cakewalk without exception as soon as I try to load an instrument. Works in Standalone.

Honestly, it doesn’t seem ready for primetime, even prior versions haven’t felt good. Maybe it works in Vienna Ensemble but that’s not part of my workflow. Would like to use JXL Brass as it’s an excellent library, but it’s as useful as a brick currently.

many seem to have better luck with vepro

that said I’m 2 for 2. both my daw and my laptop have had little to no issue since it came out. I don’t think I have a fancy version of windows 10 or anything, but I feel bad for those not so lucky.

The only problem I have is the permanent sustain pedal if I use my sustained, because it’s not the typical on off sustain, but rather a full range continuous controller

And that seems to be a pretty common problem with a lot of software that isn’t expecting that

Do you have like me a Roland DP-10 sustain pedal? I use continuous mode and SINE with JXL, Ark 1+2.

Sometimes the sustain is stucked and dont release anymore.

i use a yamaha fc3a, plugged into my s88.

I HAD two, but my damn cat is in LOVE with the devils spaghetti and chewed threw the cord of my 2nd one which was my soft pedal

I really should be plugging in a normal one, a lot of kontakt libraries freak out when they get those messages too — and I’ve got a 3rd jack available on the machine jam

Thank you to everyone who reached out to our support and wrote in this thread—we can confirm that we’ve found a bug that occurs when using the new SINE version (1.0.4) in Logic. The good news is we can reproduce this bug, so we’re working on a fix for it now, and we’ll provide the fix as soon as possible. We can’t put a date on the next update yet, but it’s coming soon. In the meantime, there’s a simple workaround for the problem.

If you’re on Logic, the current workaround is to revert to the previous SINE version. You can download it here:

We’re also aware of the hanging notes bug, and we’re working on a fix for this too.
Please note that we’ve also been able to reproduce hanging notes in Cubase — feel free to email us with project examples that show this or other issues!

Apologies for any inconvenience caused. And as always, please keep reporting issues, and thanks for being patient.

Other DAWs seem to be unaffected, so if you’re not on Logic you should definitely keep using the latest SINE version.

Orchestral Tools выпустила бесплатный оркестровый плагин Layers, который с лёгкостью добавит оркестровых красок в вашу музыку. Несмотря на бесплатность инструмента, духовые и струнные записаны очень качественно, а сама разработка оснащена встроенным генератором аккордов и поддержкой слоёв.

Разработчики говорят, что Layers — способ познакомить музыкантов, композиторов и продюсеров с компанией Orchestral Tools и её продуктами. «Пользователи получат оригинальную библиотеку с замечательным звуком, который обычно и ждут от оркестровых инструментов», — говорится на сайте создателей.

Бесплатная оркестровая библиотека Orchestral Tools Layers предлагает полный комплект струнных, духовых и медных секций с несколькими артикуляциями. Интерфейс обеспечивает простой доступ в пару кликов к минорным, мажорным и другим аккордам, одиночным басовым нотам и вариациям трезвучий.

Плагин также даёт возможность изменить звучание оркестра по собственному желанию. Изменения достигаются за счёт нескольких позиций микрофонов, их конфигураций и настроек смешивания сигнала. Дополнительно пользователи могут работать со слоями, смешивая инструментальные партии и управляя динамикой через MIDI-контроллер.

Возможности Layers

Отмечается, что все звуки оркестра были записаны в Берлине на студии Teldex Scoring Stage, обладающей большим залом с потрясающей акустикой. Инженеры использовали множество микрофонов в разных конфигурациях и положениях. За исполнение ответственны музыканты современных берлинских оркестров. Как видите, перед нами не очередной бесплатный оркестровый плагин, а серьёзный виртуальный инструмент, отказываться от скачивания которого попросту нет смысла.

Для скачивания библиотеки нужно:

1. Зайти на сайт Orchestral Tools;
2. Создать бесплатный аккаунт на странице регистрации. Для этого в верхнем левом углу жмём по ссылке «Account», нажимаем «Login»;
3. На странице входа в аккаунт находим надпись «New to Orchestral Tools? Join now». Нажимаем на ссылку под надписью «Join Now»;
4. После создания аккаунта и его подтверждения, заходим на сайт под своим именем и переходим на страницу Layers;
5. Нажимаем синюю кнопку «Get It Free!», проходим процедуру покупки бесплатной библиотеки (никаких данных карт вводить не придётся, библиотека просто добавится в список продуктов на аккаунте);
6. Скачиваем и устанавливаем бесплатный сэмплер SINE Player (работает под macOS 10.13 и выше, и Windows 10 и выше, но только в 64-битных версиях операционных систем). Скачать его можно здесь;
7. Открываем SINE Player, заходим под созданным ранее аккаунтом;
8. Выбираем пункт «MY LICENSES»;
9. Библиотека должна уже попасть в список продуктов на аккаунте. Если библиотека не появилась в списке, перезайдите в сэмплер SINE Player и обновите аккаунт.

Что происходит с Forkplayer, HD Videobox, Nserv?

Не загружается и не открывается ForkPlayer? Не грузятся фильмы с Nserv? Не работает HD Videobox? У меня для вас плохие новости – это не случайно и не связано с временными техническими проблемами у вышеназванных сервисов. За пиратский контент в августе этого года взялись плотно, и похоже перспектива обещает быть не самой лучшей…

20 августа у пользователей перестало работать приложение для тв-боксов HD Videobox. Его разработчик (36-летний гражданин Украины) заявил о прекращении его поддержки и при этом удалил аккаунты в соцсетях и мессенджерах. Известно, что по факту жалоб правообладателей на тиражирование контента на разработчика HD Videobox было заведено уголовное дело по статье 176 Уголовного кодекса Украины «Нарушение авторского права и смежных прав». Она предусматривает либо большой денежный штраф либо реальный тюремный срок.

Вскоре после этого события неполадки в работе начали наблюдать и пользователи ForkPlayer – приложения для андроид и Смарт-ТВ. Сервис то отказывался загружаться, то не давал открыть ничего из закладок и каталога фильмов и сериалов.

ForkPlayer фактически представляет собой браузерную надстройку для поиска пиратского контента. Одним из главных порталов, с которым работал Форк был NSERV HOST. Он тоже перестал работать последнее время, но по другой причине.

Так что Nserv не перестал работать, его не закрыли – он просто стал платным. В настоящее время за VIP разработчики просят 328 руб (4$) за доступ к порталу на год. Для оплаты еще вчера был специальный сайт по адресу https://my.nserv.host/. Сейчас уже другой — http://my.playfork.io/. На сайте надо зарегистрироваться, ввести свой MAC и сделать оплату. Но и тут не всё гладко!

Судя по всему, владельцы Nserv спешно всё меняют и допиливают буквально на лету в связи с последними событиями. По отзывам пользователей в группе Телеграм о Форк Плеер массово наблюдаются следующие глюки:

• Сайт плохо работает на мобильниках
• Ссылка на оплату то пропадает, то появляется
• Юмани блокирует кошелек получателя платежа
• Даже после оплаты ничего не работает и нет возможности смотреть фильмы

Краткий рассказ о том, как развивались события и аналитика того, что нас ждёт дальше:

Платить за Nserv или нет – выбор только за вами. Я бы пока посоветовал не спешить и выждать какое-то время. Судя по тому, как спешно меняются сервера и даже официальные сайты, дела у разработчиков данного портала (и у других аналогичных кстати) идут в свете последних событий не очень хорошо. Как будут развиваться события дальше – покажет время, будем наблюдать.
