Stardew valley не работает геймпад

First of all you need to download the following file(s):

  • DS4Windows link here [ds4windows.com]

Step 1: Extract the files ( 2 files inside the archive you downloaded )
Step 2: Double click on DS4Windows.exe
Step 3: Click on ‘Step 1: Install the DS4 Driver’ and let it install & complete
Step 4: Restart your computer
Step 5: If you are on windows 7 or below than install the xbox 360 driver aswell ( click on the option in DS4Windows )
Step 6: Now there are 2 options you can do, you can use your PS4 controller with micro-usb connection or with your bluetooth connection, click on ps button on your controller and select the controller in bluetooth settings of your PC and you’re good to go.
Connect a micro-usb cable from your controller to your pc to use wired mode ( that’s the one i’m using ).
Step 7: Now it should be working and you can click on the button finish

You can optionally make your own control shemes/profiles in the profile manager and adjust more settings to fit your preferences.
The PS4 controller will now act like a 360 controller and will be compatible with any games that have X360 controller support.
You don’t have to make a control sheme yourself as DS4 automatically uses the x360 button layout and it works amazing with Stardew Valley in my opinion.
Again, it is possible to make your own controls layouts if you want to.

I wanted to share this as i started using this recently ( only with Move or Die and Stardew Valley , maybe more games later ) and i wanted more people to know this, it’s up to you if you want to give it a try

Stardew valley не работает геймпад

Hi all,
I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this, but I’m desperate.
I’ve been playing Stardew Valley for awhile just with my keyboard and since all this quarantining began to happen I thought I’d buy a PS4 dual shock controller to make my life easier.
Two days of googling and trouble shooting has not made my life easier.

The problem:
Both USB and Bluetooth connect to my computer and work perfectly fine for Steam in big picture mode. It’s not until I actually click on SV that the controller isn’t recognized in game.

What I’ve tried:
Turning on and off the «Playstation Config Support»
Turning on Beta form for Steam (I’m still in Beta currently)
Resetting the controller in game
Turning off the controller, turning off «Playstation Config Support», going into game, turning on controller

Please, anyone, I would be so grateful for any help.

So I found the solution, finally. I decided to post what helped me, so if anyone comes across this, here ya go.

From a person named Hobbes:
I was having the same problems with getting the PS4 controller to work with my Mac with Steam games (I didn’t try this with games outside of Steam). I had this problem in both Bluetooth mode and USB-wired. After hours of hair-pulling, internet searching and the like, I think I’ve finally got it working with Bluetooth by accidentally stumbling upon a fix. Maybe this will help some of you?

First, I got the controller recognized as a «Wirelss Controller» on my Mac over bluetooth. I also have «PS4 Configuration Support» checked and made sure that Steam recognized the controller — even though all it can do is rumble the darn thing and change the color.

At this point, Steam can see the controller and my Mac can see the controller, but every time I loaded up a game (Lego: Avengers, for example) I would get «No Input» for all my controls and would need to keyboard my way back out. I limited my testing to Lego games since that’s what I had loaded and wanted to use the controller for anyway. I didn’t try this with Dust or D3 or anything.

Next, with my controller now working in Steam itself, I switched to Big Picture Mode and navigated to Settings -> Base Configurations -> Desktop configuration. This was set to nothing and I went through the Templates and seclected «Gamepad with High Precision Camera/Aim». The templates, in the lower-right-hand corner of the box should say «PS4 controller» or somesuch to give you a sense for what you are picking.

To check my settings, while still in Big Picture, you can navigate to your Game Library, pick a game, and Manage Game -> Controller Application Options. You should see «Global Setting (PS4)». Also check Manage Game -> Controller Configuration and make sure you have the same Template from above shown there, «Gamepad with High Precision Camera».

Now when you load your games from Steam, even outside of Big Picture Mode, you should be able to use your PS4 controller. I’m hoping this helps other Mac users that have struggled with their PS4 controllers!

EDIT: One more oddity I just noticed. If you plug in your PS4 controller while it is connected as a BT controller, it’ll show up twice in Steam. This can happen if you’re using your controller and then plug it in to re-charge the battery while continuing to play. You’ll notice this because in Big Picture underneath «PS4 Configureation Support» checkbox, you’ll see the PS4 controller listed twice. To get things working properly again, you should always use the controller either as USB OR Bluetooth, otherwise steam treats every button press like a double-press, which is creepy. On Macs, this means you’ll need to manually his «Disconnect» in your Bluetooth menubar settings under Wireless Controller. If you don’t do this, you may get the dreaded «No Input» error when you try to play a game.

NOTE: I can’t seem to get the PS4 controller working as a usb gamepad, which others seem to have working without a problem. I can only get it working as expected as a BT device.

and from a person named DrewP
hobbes you are amazing. I just bought a shiny new DS4 controller and was about to send it flying through my laptop’s screen when i came across your post. I was having the exact same issues as you including the weird double input thing in big picture mode. Just wanted to add that for some games (in my case Valdis Story: Abyssal City), that specific template doesnt work. Mess around with the different templates until one works. Usually it recommends one for you when you go into «Manage game» but make sure the template you set in «Desktop configurations» is THE SAME as the one you set in «Manage game». Other than that, everything you said was spot on and well explained. Thanks again dude.

How to use x360ce emulator with Stardew Valley on PC

In this tutorial you will find steps to make x360ce work with Stardew Valley. This method also works with any game – just do the same easy steps, no special skills needed to make any controller work as an Xbox 360 gamepad. Emulator allows your controller (joystick, wheel, gamepad, etc.) to operate as the most common device, recognized by most of the games without any additional settings and workarounds.

1. The first step is to download x360ce zip file from official site. You have to select 32 or 64 bit version (same as the version of Stardew Valley you use). If you don’t know the version of your game or download wrong one accidentally, you will be notified later and have a chance to use another version.

2. Now we have to find the installation folder of your game. You can easily do this by looking into game shortcut settings or finding the game in your Steam library list. If you choose the Steam variant, right click the game name and select “Properties”.

3. Navigate to “Local files” tab and press “Browse local files. ” button.

4. Now you need to find the folder with Stardew Valley executable. In the example picture they are located in Binaries / Retail subfolder. You need to extract downloaded x360ce ZIP file to folder with your game executable file.

5. Click on x360ce exe file with the right mouse button and select “Run as administrator” from dropdown menu.

6. You will see window with warning – “xinput 1_3.dll was not found. This file is required for emulator to function properly.” Don’t worry, just click “Create” button to make them appear.

7. When x360ce will inform you that new device was detected, use automatic search for settings from internet – just hit “Next” button.

8. Click “Finish”, when installation completed.

9. Hit the “Auto” button to make all settings set to defaults. Confirm changes by clicking “Yes” in popup window. All the buttons will be filled automatically.

10. Now just hit “Save” button to make all your settings saved. You can also change buttons assignment before hitting “Save”, if you like.

Now you can normally launch Stardew Valley and use your controller with x360ce emulator – it will be starting automatically with each game launch.

Stardew valley не работает геймпад

I just watched an LP of Stardew Valley and now totally want to play this game.
However I can’t play a lot with mouse/keyboard.

Steam says, it has «Partial Controller Support». But what exactly does this mean?
Is it playable with Gamepad?
How well does it work?
Does it feel like actual gamepad controls (like in Harvest Moon on the consoles), or do you have to move around the mouse-cursor with the Analog-Stick?

From what I understand (and I’ve only played with keyboard/mouse while I do have a controller), almost everything you do can be done with the controller *fairly* easily, excluding menu navigation. From threads I’ve seen here, that should be done with a mouse/keyboard simply because it is far easier.

If anyone who does play with a controller sees this, I’m sure they’ll have better information for you.

i play with a controller and it works nice. for some stuff you need to use the mouse though (open the journal for example).

not sure if its just me, but i think one of the last updates produced some gamepad bugs. the A button sometimes doesnt register anymore and when i try to use the axe inside of the house, it picks up the carpet. have to change to mouse and keyboard for a while, when that happens.

using an xbox 360 controller btw.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hmmm . that’s a bit sad.
I really don’t want to use the mouse at all, since it gives me pain.
Hope, the Gamepad-Controls will be reworked.

Or I might try to play it with the Steam Controller.
However, I’d prefer to have some more conventional gamepad controls on a game like this (it’s very similar to Harvest Moon after all).
It’s just more comfortable.

The more gameplay of this game I watch, the more I want to play it. :>

But please, please, please make a control scheme without the Cursor (for Controller)!
Do it for the chicken!

Actually to me the controls are rather impractical even if I’d use a mouse.
Also in every LP I watched so far, people are constantly misclicking stuff and use tools, when they didn’t want to.

Don’t want to sound too negative, but in all honesty the controls are the only thing right now, which prevent me from buying and playing this game.

And yes, I am kind of «lazy» in that regard.
But this seems like the perfect game to relax a bit. However I can’t relax, when I’m struggeling with the controls.
(Also I have yet to see any reason for the mouse cursor in this game. I just don’t get it.)

I use the controller almost exclusively and it works great aside from the «A button» problem which is fairly minor. The only thing you’ll need to use the keyboard for is typing and the other aforementioned things.

What’s actually going on is that your mouse cursor overrides what direction your facing, giving you more control in certain situations and obviously getting in the way when you forget to move the cursor a few inches away from your avatar.

After the first couple hours I now have the habit of sliding the cursor to the corner of the screen, I play with a Steam Controller, I would imagine if I was playing with my mouse and keyboard I would have gotten the habit of doing so even quicker.

Whatever your method of control may be do not let it keep you from experiencing this game, it really is worth dealing with the controls.
